Short term release of licences, lets run with this one

CEC could hold an Auction, all that are interested could submit their bids

don't know why you put smiles, isn't this a major part of your idea for reform, its not like you to be confused

Seriously a seller warning that what they are selling could be worthless in 6 months

Aye right

P.S A cab, plate and City position 30k, say's it all really

well the taxi's worth 12k say positions worth 2k maybe a bit more if you can find a mug.so the plate must be of an asking price somewhere in the15>16k mark give or take depending how you divvy it up.
seems about right given the prices ive seen recently

anyway i have to agree the poster is suspect, however the pricing is accurate enough.

which asks the question why has someone posted this misinformation ?

in my humble opinion it is time to put in an application for the simple fact that they are now in no position to defend a refusal.
all this is just that fear and nonsense, but it may have some foundation somewhere along the line 8-[

I think you are right with the timing of an application. However, I can't see C.E.C. once again, going to court to defend their policy of restriction, either way, you will land your plate.

Based on what has gone before and where we find ourselves at today's date. It looks like a plug pull to me. And I know for a fact. This is the recommendation put forward on behalf of their legal department.

It doesn't make sense, not to have a survey in place and with up-to-date information at hand, after all the cases they have lost in court. :-| I could be wrong but I just can's see, yet another court case in some vain attempt to defend their incompetence, it's not going to happen. :-|

It's Trainer's business to find a mug to rake-in his commission. Would you pay the 30k ticket price or would you look for someone desperate to sell up, who needed the money?

There are plenty out there wanting out now.

Well I'd expect the broker to be asking a bit more than the rock bottom price available, but not almost double. £15-16k doesn't ring true if the broker is asking £30k.

If you wanted 30K, I might offer you 15K, and we might settle somewhere in-between. I think 30k, is about right for the initial asking price. :-|

Ali T, I don't know the seller. Just saw the add on Gumtree and wondered what you guy's thought about it. I am personally very sceptical.

Taxi plate and cab and city position £30,000
£30,000 Trinity, Edinburgh

This comes with a warning to you, I have a very good friend in the council and have been informed that the current setup will be changing soon. Plates will be opened up again to license holders to apply for a set time period and this will start next year. I think this is only a limited time period but this wasn't known yet.

I am selling my plate and taking my retirement from the job that has changed too much since I started. Selling as the full package and would prefer someone who is driving with city currently to take the taxi.

2008 tx4 with 180,000 miles auto black.
Plate
City position

I guess your paying about 15 grand for the plate which is much lower than most are selling for.

Also when plates were free to all before there were still people renting so you can still get some income from a renter, maybe £150 a week to another full time guy which will cover your radio fees when things do change.

From this

Just a job to me AliT, alway's has been, if it where a business i'd have multiple plates and some that would have been carpetbagged

So you decide to disclose the licence, taxi and position is now sold, Sunday night and you come in with its sold

It not even something fishy
