Well after enjoying the humour this has created it's time for a report I thinks,
Looks - Lovely, rear is thicker than most of the really thin TV's now, but I ain't looking at it from behind anyway
On/Off - Instant, no waiting for it to warm up
Picture - 1080 looks the nutz, both on tv and video modes it's a lovely picture
Connection - Well we have USB,Composite,HDMi x2, RJ45, and Component, Optical out
Remote - Nice and simple, nice size and weight
3D - Great but it does depend on who made the film, sometimes it stops at your nose, other times it simply adds depth but the effect is clear and I see no crosstalk or shadows
Am I glad I bought it? oh yeah, I've got an optical cable to link it to my now ancient AV amp, I say ancient but 10 years ago it was basically one of the finest amps you could buy, as it's has had very little use due to the obstructor/objector in the house I see no reason to not keep it as long as it lasts, she broke the volume knob some years ago, needed to hoover behind it so pulled a 17 kg amp by the volume knob (see where I am with it now) I'm about to source either a powerline kit or a long RJ45 Cat6 cable so I can stream and use the internet function of the tv, cable is favorite as it only relies on itself but routing it is going to be like crossing the Himalaya's in slippers with all the wall to wall junk in the house (I'm ordering a skip once the kids are grown up) so maybe a powerline kit is the best option (if it works that is) all in all I think I nailed it, it does everything I need it to and for just over £400 I think I got a bargain, I don't think I would've wanted to shell the shelf price of nearly £600 though, luckily the sales guy was a dealer and I knew it when I was browsing a few days before, I knew if I could prove I could get it cheaper he would let me have rather than me go off and get it elsewhere, going to have to enjoy it on my own though as SHE won't watch 3D cos it gives her the dizzies, SHE won't have the cinema sound on cos it gives her headaches, SHE, etc etc etc, you know how it is don't you, basically it doesn't, SHE just likes to diss off anything she didn't want, luckily we didn't marry in the end or the worlds first divorce for actual HW PC infidelity would've been played in court, yeah, until SHE had her own mobile phone, laptop,iTouch all these items were the work of the devil, or to sum up....ATTENTION PONCE, that's all it is, if she isn't centre of attention 100% 24/7 she goes into sulk mode, sadly I've gone into DGAF mode recently so I just do what I was going to anyway and if she doesn't like it I really don't care, like I said earlier I promised my Dad, I've bent over and folded many times for the sake of the children, well times approaching they won't be children anymore and the hook will straighten out and slip out, or another way to say it is....the door is the rectangular thing at the front, feel free to use it on a one way ticket if things are so bad, I wish I could've found a chick who housed and paid all the bills for me, I don't think I would've treat her like this one treats me, but mind you there are grateful folks and there are ignorant folks, and in her defence ignorant means she won't even realise what goes on in the background to provide for her, ignorant, my dad's description of her many years ago before he stopped visiting us because as he put it......son I'm sorry I don't come round but I can't stand it in your house, the clutter and the being ignored makes it uncomfortable, and tbh he nailed it, I knew it but I will not duck out on my kids full stop.
Sorry I went off topic there, but have a good giggle and I don't mind sharing it with you as it sums up the misery of trying to be the good guy provider and getting smashed in the nose for it, and if you think it's one sided you wanna hear what she's told my friends in an attempt to shame me, just as well I have friends who have told me of this or I'd be in the dark still wouldn't I.
