Please only make sensible suggestions in order to see who does what to motivate PH drivers and put a decent pay for them..

- Commission basis (pay drivers such as 50% or 40% commission per job and they are self employed)
- Rental agreeement (rent them a car of your own, give them the radio work and charge weekly for car and radio approximately £250-£350 for PH vehicles)
- Hourly rate (set hourly rate for them whether they are still self employed or employed by the company)

any more ideas or is there anything interesting you do differently for your drivers? I'd love to hear!!

Thanks

You forgot the fully self employed driver who provides their own vehicle and just pays you rent for a radio, they keep everything they earn and then just pay you for the radio rent

I'm HC........I motivate PH by reporting them and taking pictures of them whilst they illegally sit on taxi ranks and ply for hire.

[quote="wannabeeahack"]£350 a week ( £18k a year) for a car? are you serious?

yep, some of my drivers do this...

They pay me £350 per week for a car and private hire work all they do is ADD FUEL and they earn approximately £1300 a week

£1300 - £350 rent = £950 - £200 fuel =£750 is what they take home with no investment... how does that sound?

for £350 a week, i take care of car maintenance, mot, tax and so on.

12 hours a day. 7 days a week can be done here we got good rates... try doing that on the f******** rank, that'll take you 16 hours a day, so PH is better and you deal with less prats and strangers.

You seem to think it's ok to work 12 hours per day, 7 days a week  Is it any wonder you can't get drivers.

Yep, I only need hard working and motivated workforce which will drive my business to meet objectives and vision of my organisation. Just like any other high street business does, taxi drivers need to be taught as they do not have a proper job experience. I am a operator, business minded and manage several businesses aside have proven track record and know what I am doing and know what I need from my workforce.

Drivers shouldn't be working 84 hours a week. [-X

Not a pop at Mr Waqas, as he isn't alone in supporting drivers working crazy hours, but working crazy hours leads to dead drivers and dead punters.

How about paying by the mile, or to put it another way, they pay you a fixed fee for every mile the cab has been driven on a particular shift.

Mind you you, there would have to be some allocation for dead mileage, e.g. the distance to pick-up, that kind of thing, otherwise you'd never get your Drivers to go to out of the way places and short runs well away from the Base Area.

What you need is a slight attitude adjustment and please stop referring to these drivers that you don't employ as 'your workforce' they pay you to find them work not the other way around. What exactly is it you want to 'teach' these drivers that you have little or no respect for? I'm all for businesses doing well and I'm all for drivers and operators doing well but I think you're just concerned with yourself tbh
