Cheltenham taxi driver robbed and slashed with macheteA TAXI driver was attacked with machete and robbed of £200 as he responded to a call out.
The 60-year-old believed to from Cheltenham was slashed on his shoulders, hand and his mouth during the attack in the early hours of Friday.
He was attacked by the two offenders, believed to be men, who came out of an alleyway when he rang on a door bell in St Peter’s Close at about 4.30am.
He was forced to hand over £200 from his taxi before the hoodie wearing attackers are believed to have made off on foot towards Moors Avenue.
A spokesman for the police said the victim was out of hospital after receiving stitches.
The offenders are described as around 5ft 9ins, in their 20s and wearing black trousers, black t-shirts and hoods over their faces.
