Very true, there's some very valid points there. Once registered, each Company is prompted to choose the postcode areas they service by specifying an average response time to each postcode. This way, the customer see's an average expected wait time which they can then factor into their decision to call the Company or not.

P.S. I definately know why the airport thing isn't working now and I've got a way round it so please do check back this evening for that fix.

That's really interesting, I've just tried what i think your routes were (some of the last routes in the database) and all appears well. can you tell me what you're entering and I'll see if I can find the cause?

I was entering Beechwood Court in Skegby to Nottingham, it couldn't find Beechwood Court.

Hi Nidge

Just wanted to check, are you still experiencing any problems with the site?

Steve

Taxi Pricer: On a technicality.

The route that you have demonstrated, could be deemed improper by the Licensing Authorities because it is not the shortest route and your two quotes are higher than the more direct route would cost.

What say you to that?

That's the drivers problem to take the shortest route, the software looks like it's going on the fastest route and not the shortest. It's a small problem which can be sorted.

Our Licensing Authority requires us to take the shortest route. So, I believe do many others

Yes they do, the route I put in from my place to Nottingham was taking me down the M1, OK it's the fastest route but it's not the shortest route. Like you said local Councils require you to go the shortest route.

To be honest, the route is just a suggested route (it says that in the iphone version of the website, but I note it doesnt on the main website), something to consider.

I could have a look at the code to see if there's a way of using shortest route rather than fastest - however if you think about it, it actually works in your favour. You dont HAVE to take the suggested route, if the quoted route is 8 miles, its costed for 8 miles. If you can do it in 7 miles then you win =D>
