A stamford Hackney saloon was damaged after a courier van driver tried to read his delivery dockets whilst turning into a large new housing estate. Damage was done to the rear door and wing of the taxi as the driver ended up on the wrong side of the road whilst trying to read and drive at the same time.

Fortunately no one was injured in the accident and the vehicle may be able to continue working whilst awaiting repairs. The van driver exchanged details and suggested the cabbie phone the courier firm as this sort of thing happens all the time and they just deal with it !

So if you see a DPD parcels courier van driving towards you watch out they don't believe in driving safely !

You obviously have never met Sleaford UPS crew ! That lot are into mind games accusations of false improsenment the works when it comes to getting away with parking on taxi ranks. And they hold grudges I had a stationary order sent via them and oh boy did they make sure I wasn't going to receive it.

mmmm, loss of earnings would require 2 or 3 years accounts - showing a profit - and id guess that could prove difficult to produce

many LA's would stop the vehicle working till repaired, the driver could use a claim company and get a plated hire car

unless of course the courier firm want to sort it all out for cash
