I see that many new taxi forums have been started over the last month or so.

May I wish them all well. :D

I expect that most will fade away after people have said hello to each other a dozen times, and what a great site it is.

Then one or two will spend the next few weeks slagging off Taxi Driver Online, although some have already started.

After that, well to be honest I couldn't give a f***.

Perhaps we should ask the PCO to conduct a review of the 'alternatives'.

What tickles me about the plethora of new taxi forums is that Mr A Peters, AKA Scanner, has posted on all of them his conspiracy theory about Metro Cab and LTI.

According to this theory, Metro Cab has started up just in time to stop the E7 being allowed in London. His theory goes that if LTI have a monopoly, then the turning circle condition will be relaxed.

In other words LTI are manipulating the market to keep others out, and LTI profits up.

This from a member of Brighton taxi cartel that, with others, manipulates the Brighton taxi market by divvying out free phone work, and fixing council contracts.

I think the irony of this corrupt practise has been missed by Mr Peters.

I agree it was your idea, and as you don't run a cartel, you are free to have such a view.

Unlike Brighton's Cartel Kid.

Haha, one taxi a month to be produced for the next year to 'drip' feed the market? That should provide some stiff competition for LTI.

My 'E7' brochure arrived yesterday from Cab Direct, very impressive.

There is however a rumour circulating about a TX3 towards the end of the year? Perhaps Metrocab shaped with an LTI badge?

A conspiracy within a conspiracy? lol

I don't know this scanner person you mention only for the fact that he has posted on here. I don't think he is really that relevant, is he? Small fish in a big pond springs to mind. By his actions he obviously thinks himself important enough to warrant more attention than he deserves. One gets the feeling he has to exert an enormous amount of control in order to silence or at least estrange each dissenting voice that might cause him to feel bad. I suspect that is the only way he can feel secure in his isolated little bubble. Perhaps the Brighton bubble might burst sooner than Mr Scanner thinks?

All this probably has nothing whatsoever to do with Metro cab but I thought I'd mention it anyway. lol

Regards

Well Sussex, there is no claim that this is MY conspiracy theory at all, and you know that dont you.. you just want to be a bit of a devil. However, you really should have mentioned the rest of it shouldnt you whereby I reported other points OF MY OWN that seem to uphold the conpiracy theory started by whoever & it could well have been Yorkie. But I think I first read it on the London forum.. but who cares anyway

However, study the rest of piece that certainly seems to back up whoever (?) thought of the conpircy theory.

Taken from the piece I wrote:

Well the conspiracy theory is that they have been brought back into production to take away the implication that LTI have a monopoly.....and that the production will be strictly limited. This of course is all relating to the current COF regarding the E7 and other alternative vehicles.

It would good to know exactly who is funding the Metro production and if it is in full swing.. or on a pre order basis.... meaning.... of course that LTI no longer have their monopoly.. and makes them look better.

Now... have a look at page 109 of PHTM. There is a big advert featuring the news that the TTT is back in production, and featuring on that page is a blue Metro. However, go to page 153 and you will see the exact same cab for sale for £12,500...... and it is a "W" reg as well, look at the brick background.

Ok, so it may have been used for example only.. but it doesn't state that does it.

Now go to http://home.btconnect.com/taxiwarehouse ... trocab.htm and you will see a very similar blue Metro (well, its blue anyway) being advertised as brand new. Is this the same "W" reg.. in fact do these "New" Metro's actually exist? I'm sure they do .

And the advertised "W" reg is not featured in the second hand section of the Taxi Warehouse, perhaps it's being used elswhere for other purposes.. but of course it could have just been sold. :wink

The interior shots of all the featured "new" Metro's are all the same, well of course that is probably to save time in taking individual shots

If you do not have a copy of the April edition of PHTM then you can view those pages here:

Page 109 is within: http://www.phtm.co.uk/media/1112261286.pdf

Page 153 is within: http://www.phtm.co.uk/media/1112261788.pdf

One final thought, if these were brand new cabs would it not look better for the publicity shots to have proper 05 index plates.

As you see, I never claimed it was MY theory, but I do claim the rest of it.

So.. do you agree with the rest of the conpiracy theory, did you have a look at what I pointed out.. did you see the "w" reg metro I mentioned

By the way, I hope this site never closes down because it really is very entertaning reading at times

And finally, thanks for taking the time to mention me on this site.. I am glad I made such an impact with you that you need to keep mentioning me

(I know the IP address of Sussex becuase he keeps posting silly names on my forum  )

Yorkie,
As you can see I never claimed it was MY theory... you shouldnt believe everything that Sussex writes  I only added to it. So, check out the bit I added, which may back up the conspiracy theory.. regarless of whoever thought of it first

Nice to hear from you Andy.

the seagulls talk from your neck of the woods claiming the big man has left and I think implying your firm could loose big contracts, had he gone any further he would be saying you could go tits up.

is it a problem?

this IP address intrigues me, is it to a solicitors office in Bournmouth?

Hello Yorkie

You say the "big man". If you are referring to the chairman who is elected by the membership then yes you are right. The man is a very good friend of mine and I was at his leaving do with several others who wished him the very best in his new venture. See www.apgraphx.co.uk/photos/piazza.html for the happy photos.. it was a good night for all ! ( I woder if sussexman will look at that page..well as I have his IP number I will soon fnd out  )

He sold his membership and made a hansom profit in doing so (all legal and declared Sussex  ) which demonstrates how good and strong our company is with a list of people wanting to buy in and bought an eight seater intending to build up a new business. He asked me to design his advertising.

However, he was headhunted by another cab firm when they heard he a left, and was offered an extremely good deal to run one section of that company, and he was allowed to put his eight seater on as well.

In fact they offered him a very good deal which is something that our Association could never match because we are a non-profit making Association. He certainly desrves the reward he is now getting!

I have known his for some 10 years & and have a great deal of respect for him. He took the gamble of selling up and trying something new. He told me that he knows that he can always buy back in later if he wanted. I am in constant contact with him and wished him the very best for the future.

This week we will democratically elect a new chairman at out AGM and perhaps some new committee members as well. Some existing ones may be re-elected.

One point that everyone should remember:

The graveyards are full of indispensable people.

We have very possibly a major forward advance planned.. but I couldn't possibly reveal that on here
