Eyes wide open here...I see what the 62% of other Scots see, and that is the complete lack of need to break up the Union just to appease a minority of Scots who suffer an inferiority complex in a partnership that has served us all well for 305 years.

Being Independent does not make the slap ma sporran Brigadoon brigade any more Scottish than we realists are, we, who can see that we are and always will be a Nation of Scots with our own individual Identity and still sit comfortably as equals with our nearest Neighbours.

You confuse Scottish loyalty with independence. you Don't need the latter to prove the former..

Utter twaddle from Scotland's own Colonel Blimp.
We are not the "slap ma sporran Brigadoon brigade" that you and your ilk wish we were. Quite the reverse in fact.
You are the one using rose tinted glasses and a misty eyed view of the last 305 years as reason to continue what is, to the vast majority of Scots, a very unequal union.

I'm not confused at all. 8)
Scottish loyalty and independence are not the same thing. Nor are they mutually exclusive.
We can all have one, or both or for that matter neither.

You however confuse British loyalty with realism.
A realist should have a better argument than a distorted view of the past.

Assuming that Scotland gets independence, will there be a border control put up at all crossings to keep your lot in?

Are you saying that Scottish border controls will still be the responsibility of the rest of the UK? That doesn't sound very independant now does it?

It matters not....It's never going to happen. and that's what really Irks the "Slap Ma Sporran" brigade because they also know it'll never happen.

Perhaps our resident pedant should ask the correct question?

As an independent nation within the EC, we will not be having any border posts on our side of the border. If your Tory mates want to do so on your side, that's up to them.
Only the English have this obsession with keeping people out. Strange how they seem to fail so miserably at it.

BTW, is your spellchecker broken?

I wonder if the border could be put back at Hadrian's wall, then everyone would know where the doted line was.
