MINUTE OF MEETING OF THE REGULATORY FUNCTIONS BOARD
HELD ON 20TH SEPTEMBER, 2012

PRESENT

Councillors M Devine, McEwan, Mylet, M Sharkey, Glen, Caldwell, Hood, Provost Hall, Councillors M Brown and McQuade.

Councillor Hood, Convener, presided.

8. RENEWAL OF TAXI OPERATOR’S LICENCE AND RENEWAL OF TAXI DRIVER’S LICENCE AND REQUEST FOR EXEMPTION FROM ASSISTING WHEELCHAIR PASSENGERS – PERSONAL APPEARANCE

There were submitted the undernoted applications for renewal of a Taxi Operator’s Licence and renewal of a Taxi Driver’s Licence and a request for exemption from assisting wheelchair passengers. The applicant had been asked to appear personally for the first time:-

Eric Egan, Flat 0/1, 11 Fereneze Drive, Paisley – TX010 and TX0108

Mr Egan, the applicant, was invited into the meeting. After consideration of all matters before the Board, the Board adjourned to allow members to consider these applications. The meeting was reconvened and the Convener proposed that Mr Egan’s application for renewal of his Taxi Operator’s Licence be granted for a period of two years and that he be exempt from operating a wheelchair accessible vehicle; that Mr Egan’s application for renewal of his Taxi Driver’s Licence be granted for a period of two years; and that Mr Egan’s request for exemption from assisting wheelchair passengers be granted for the duration of his current Taxi Driver’s Licence. This was agreed unanimously.
DECIDED:

(a) That Mr Egan’s application for renewal of his Taxi Operator’s Licence be granted for a period of two years and that he be exempt from operating a wheelchair accessible vehicle;

(b) That Mr Egan’s application for renewal of his Taxi Driver’s Licence be granted for a period of two years; and

(c) That Mr Egan’s request for exemption from assisting wheelchair passengers be granted for the duration of his current Taxi Driver’s Licence.
