Its the beginning of the end...only certain voices will be heard.

You make an interesting point Mr bloodnock, maybe TDO has run its course and should be switched off.

Perhaps the admin could give a few weeks notice to allow others, maybe even you, to set up another forum that would allow the more open and free speech ethos that you need.

I don't have the Skill's to start up a Forum, someone else on here might have.

But other than its somewhat sudden urge to follow a nigglesome modern trend towards appeasement and undue censorship that seems so rife in Modern Britain,TDO is a great Forum.

Lets just pop in a disclaimer to protect our administrator and let the forum members face the consequences of their own submissions..

We need to be able to say our bit for better or for worse, good or bad...it what makes us who we are.

I think that some members post things just to see how far they can go without being banned or locked.

And some just take their venom from another taxi forum to this one in their bid to reach a new audience in a bid to perpetuate their petty yet malicious spites.

Its a great forum for information and advice I appreciate it.

Unfortunately this media is instant in its impact for sure it can infuriate like no other, there are many diverse and valid views expressed in many forms polite aggravating and bleedin insulting, well were all grown up and should accept the medium. I have verballed Wanna Doom Bloodknock amonsgt others but I suspect were we to meet we'd wet ourselves laughing??

I beleve disagreement and debate is healthy but if you have the power to lock or delete posts could you resist it??


I was told stop the left wing rants, there were no rants just forcefull expression, are left wing views invalid because of the rght wing views of the moderators
no of course not, sure there need to be boundaries advocating genocide or racism would be a step too far for me.

This is a valuable asset the moderators could maybe allow themselves some more cooling down time before LOCKING and accept that left and right views and all in between are the honest valid and sincerely held views of most contributors?

Those I absolutely abhor are those too frightend to express an opinion.

A disclaimer statement must be more than adequate - the newspapers use them all of the time, also a world wide site called "Tripadvisor". The Hotels/managers/owners also use it to thank people for their views OR the other side of the coin to also to say as to whether they have rectified a given bad situation - as the people on that site tell it like it is and can damage their business.

If they (the complainant) get it wrong or are malicious which can be damaging to the Hotel, then I am sure that their e - mail address can be traced - they the complainant will carry the can.

It can work on this site - but contributors/people must be aware................they will carry the can in anything that is libelous/illegal. If you are going to say anything outlandish/potentially libelous, then make sure that you can back up what you are saying.

I agree that this is a good site! Unfortunately our local "Rag" prints half truths and also pulls posts for no real good reason other than to protect local big wigs - I use that paper nowhere near as much as I used to! why?...........................because TRUE democracy does not exist in the realms of that newspaper.

I hope that we do not go that way.

too be honest some of the comments made by fellow TDO members are maybe not quiet racist, but they do have racist overtones.

as for TDO closing down, no chance, if you dont like the rules and then as the racists say, "go back to your own forum...."

There's a bloody big difference between being an out and out racist and discussing a theme based on race...

The trouble with this country in general is that the trendy politicians and rule makers bury their heads in the sand about the obvious and try and pretend that certain sections of our National community are a taboo subject which should never be discussed...

But when certain Minority groups disproportionately appear more often than their physical population percentage should really permit in the crime figures then it infers that certain groups are are more prone to resorting to certain types of offences.

Now, I can write that as a free spirit as it is targeted at no individual nor at any specific group or race. That's not racism its more an observation of the likes the papers could highlight or print.
