let me guess they are moving production to Eastern Europe to save a bit on the wages and once they do their reputation will be ruined because very few companies have done that and not had a BIG drop in the quality of workmanship !!!

I certainly would never risk buying a Ford if I knew it was coming from Eastern Europe or China

Still..on the Plus side they Could advertise them as Built by Gypsies for Gypsies..I've seen a few trannies Lugging bigggggggg caravans behind them.

What exactly DID the Olympics achieve, mostly i hear how quiet everyone (apart from the actual events) were, hotels empty, london eye/tussaud's/tower of london all down on other years

I think i read they are shifting manufacture to Turkey. Turkey has a big motor manufacturing industry. 1.2 million vehicles a year according to Wikipeadia. Fiat Doblo's are built there as are Peugeot Bippers.

If its any consolation, there are some really good taxi and PH firms in Southampton and there is still work mainly thanks to the Uni's. No consolation though should be kept open.
