see above

Quote:
Wouldn't that be a natural consequence of the Students' Union's decision?
After all, they chose to take a bung, instead of considering the safety of their members.
Can't have it both ways.

no but street cars can

the campus could be the size of Trafford park and you want young women to walk in the dark?

I take it you don't do much uni work?

You need to realise that not all students will get a taxi to go into Town - they will walk/catch a bus/have a lift going out!!!!

Going back none of these options apart from walking will be available - the Taxi/PH company concerned would not be able to cope on their own = problems............lots of problems when disgruntled pizzed up students cannot get a taxi back - the company concerned would soon be binned.

I do not know how many students that we are talking about re this topic!! In Cardiff we are talking about 27/28000 and no one company can deal with that volume.

only been on Nottingham's "residential" area off the A453, but why would you want the students to walk in the dark?

imagine the headlines

"Taxi driver dumped 17 year old rape victim after refusing to take to the door"

that will sound soooooo good methinks!

Does "17 year old rape victim dumped half a mile from her door because Taxis refused entry to campus" sound better?

19 year old sounds better to me for a uni student. At 17 they should still be doing "A" levels and shouldn't be out late at night drinking under age.

Don't take anyone back to the Campus, it's pretty simple really.

Students = how much is it back to the Uni for five of us? Cab Driver £10, Student, "how much is that each"? Not worth the hassle IMO.

that might be your opinion but it makes no difference, the simple fact is that Street cars tendered as asked, they have the sole contract to enter the campus, so others wont be picking up outbound, and as we know, its usually the outbound firm who gets booked for the return, i cant see what the beef is....
