Hi, we've just been having a look at some unusual taxis from around the world and thought it might have been of interest to you guys: http://www.ukfuelcards.co.uk/general/fi ... orld-1783/ Ferrari Enzo and Hummer taxis amongst others!

On another note, anyone do anything particularly unusual to get the punters in? I know lots of taxi companies have catchy telephone numbers and here in York we have a 'party' bus with blue lights and dance music. Really popular with the students! Anyone else do anything?

What's not unusual is people joining and then trying to push their own business!

Turn up on time
Take the shortest route
Give the right change
Ensure drivers are polite and washed

Sounds like reasonable advice... Amazing the amount of drivers who don't seem to think you know the shortest way to your own house!

More amazing is the number of punters who's "shortest route" costs them more than the way I was going to take them #-o

And I suspect 100% illegal.

Why do you suspect that the party bus will be 100% illegal?

I imagine it would be pretty distracting for the driver! Not sure if there's any rules actually against it though. The blue lights are on the inside so it doesn't pose any threat to other drivers..

I don't think you have checked this company out. If you did you would probably find that they have a PCV operators license and the drivers have PCV drivers licenses and that their paperwork is in order. Buses are regulated.
