Taxi Driver Online

Yeah me to I regret not going, same with Australia, some lads I used to work with went over there coal mining when the mines closed round here, 4 days a week and £800-£1,000 a week, a better quality of life with more money to boot.

Got talked into it by one of those that earns 1000s a week.

Now can't get out of it. I have long since passed the 'event horizon'.

Came out of the army in 1981, recession on, no jobs available,.
Went to get the weekly shop from the supermarket came out loaded with bags, looking for a taxi, none to be seen, went back in the shop asked one of the assistant where to get one from she said there was only 2 in the town and she would try and get one for me.
One turned up in 10 mins, on the way home asked the driver what was required he just said hire and reward insurance and thats all.
Spoke to the old man and he grabbed the local paper and had a look at the car adds, went to a local garage and had a test run in a Hillman Hunter liked it so he paid the £50 deposit took the insurance out along with the finance, started 2 days later on a Thursday just sitting outside the same supermarket, repaid the old man his deposit on the following Monday.
Worked for around 6 years without a phone, then got the first mobile one fitted to the car, looked like a desk top phone on top of the dash the rest is history
