i guess the worst it can do is crash and burn

Well I guess a London taxi driver doesn't know much about the trade so obviously he hasn't thought it through. I'm glad my bank aren't as pessimistic as you or I'd still be having to call in to a branch to achieve anything

You have not got a clue

Toots you should be worried because this app is apparently going to transfer all your work to the local hacks

some of you might find this mildly interesting

Then dont use it and watch it fail, others may use it and make it a success or it will fail, I dont understand the opposition.

My opposition is to paying the pound for work we where already getting

Is it only me that can see this

same amount of work divided by the same amount of drivers= the same amount of money minus the pound to time2taxi= less money

I have not a clue? Imagine if you can the app is set for ph drivers all with ops license  Saloons are cheaper to buy, run and maintain. I'd clean up at a fraction of what it's costing me now especially if all the hacks here are of the same opinion as you :D I don't think it's about creating more work it's about getting the work that is available before anyone else does :D

Of course it would effect my business, unless of course I get in there first, which is highly likely. Ph effect the business of taxis and will continue to do so for as long as the taxis allows us to, which with your attitude is going to be a long long time

The Edinburgh tariff also allows the driver to add a 60p callout fee to the meter, so for me that imo means i add 40p only to pay the server or nothing for cabapp.:[/quote]

CHRISTMAS when was the last time you drove a cab in Edinburgh?
Try 80p

You Edinburgh guys want to drop that 80p charge, my daughter stays in Edinburgh and her and her pals don't use hacks because of the 80p. You're cutting your own throats and feeding the PH, they must love you.
Crazy

The way we look at it here is if you get a job off a app your taking it off a ph.The vast majority on it are street cabs and are not on radio companys so any extra work is a bonus. Also when someone asks me for a booking and im not around to do it i book it through the app instead of giving to a company. Nobody is forcing anyone to use it and its hard here to get people away from the phone no they know. But who knows given time we can take some work back

Different if you're both charging I suppose. Aberdeen wallers are loaded anyway, they've got plenty to splash around

The point yous are missing is WE ALREADY HAVE THE APP, one has it for the I-PHONE and one has it for the ANDROID, its free as its part of our radio dues etc, we DON'T need another provider, the customer gets a great service and thousands have signed up, we even have the drivers to do the work

We are not like other cities we are adapting all the time to the times including embracing technology, hey its over a year now

Don't tell anyone though
