I Don't...as a small operator I don't want big operator grief and regulatory overkill...

Damn, how many Gangsters are going to launder their £millions on the back of a One, two or Three car Taxi/PH business, It's impossible to hide the Modest but legal income we generate as it, Another knee jerk reaction to an Ill perceived problem, leading to more Paperwork, more Cost and further misery..

Iv heard of small time drug dealers laundering money through one or two man phc operations, its a bit unfair on the law abiding driver like yourself tho, since these rouge operators do some work, it might increase your volume of work if they are shut down.

The whole point of a consultation period is so that everyone can have their input and the right balance achieved. You should take part and make sure your views are heard.

Yes, the approach the Scottish Govt has taken is far more sensible - actually trying fix problems and not trying to go looking for new ones.

With the Powers of regulation being totally devolved to individual LAs you may be right in your neck of the woods but wrong in mine, genuis eh

Look as far as Edinburgh and other Scottish Cities go or even where the trade is targeted by the rogue element, we will never again have the opportunity to shape our trade the way we see best to protect our trade for the future, the SNP have the mandate guy's, if this consultation, amendments and the CGSA etc was offered to English Cabbies they would bite the hand of for this way ahead.

Restriction through cost with SUDs in my LA is the best way ahead, it may not be for other LAs, the best way to deter organised crime is to take away the profits, you know the risk and reward aspect of organised crime, hitting in the pockets just like the proceeds of crime act, it does just that, deters.

The trade is best served by indviduals and co-operatives in my opinion, for corporate profit making companies in my opinion they should pay more in fees, holding multi licences means higher profits and at the individuals expense, monies raised in this way could be used to pay for enforcement officers our trade in Edinburgh desperetly needs.

I Hate to say it  but my Medallion system fits right in to whats being proposed, it is in my opinion the perfect system for Edinburgh, the trade needs to get behind the idea, individuals and trade reps must respond to the consultation as they see it but as said previous Regulation is Totally Devolved to individual LAs, where i see its right for Edinburgh i may see it isnt for somwhere else but hey that is not MY CONCERN

No. The consultation period is to let you believe your opinion actually counts. And the truth is, for the most part, it doesn't. Consultation is simply used to gauge public response to what they intend to ram through anyway.

As far as MacAskill and his ilk are concerned, Scotland will be shaped in their image, and not yours. And do you know why Gusmac, because you don't matter and they don't care.

Honestly Gusmac, the naivety of some of the things you come out with just blows me over. #-o
