I'm curious. By what legal mechanism does Mr Barroso think I can be deprived of my EU citizenship?

Now let me see.

Politicians. Natural empire builders. Who hold what they have. At any price. Because that maintains control. And control is what politicians are about. At any cost.

Scotland ain't leaving the EU any time soon. Any time ever.

Not until Scotland wakes up and smells the coffee.

And that is beyond Scots' infantile and immature political awareness.

Most Scots are too worried about their next payday, or shot of buckie, to concern themselves with anything grand enough to affect their own, and their children's, future.

Scots have abdicated any consideration of political independence, any control over their own meagre existence, to those they would touch their forelocks too.

That's why, after independence, we would still have a parasitical Monarchy foisted on us, because the establishment needs it to perpetrate the truth of our subjugation. Scots are no different to the rest of the Brit herd. We're all gaga over a foetus which already has more rights than 5 million Scots.

What is happening now is no different to when we were sold out by the vested interest establishment at the Union of the Crowns in 1707. The merchants and money men are deciding Scotland's future.

The herd is ... just being the herd.

Forelocks being touched.

By ticking the wrong box?

But surely you can't, but your country can.

It seems to me the Scots need to find out quite quickly what a new application entails.....will it mean the adoption of the Euro? Because if it does, that changes the entire debate, and undermines the snp arguments offered so far completely.......it also makes the snp look very foolish, as they appear to have been selling scots a Scotland with the pound linked to the Bank of England.......a change to the Euro would undoubtedly affect Scottish trade, which is predominantly to England.

As for Salmond's comments in todays Washington post, he's making himself look idiotic.

Correct, it's like UKIP Uk Independence Party, they want out of the EU with their Independence. The fools of the SNP can't see that.

Check back to when Greenland rid itself of Danish rule. They remained in the EU for a couple of years, even though they wanted to leave.
There is no mechanism within the EU to expel a member nation or to strip EU citizens of their citizenship.

I listened to this interview with Mr Barroso, and he was very careful to say that he was speaking in general terms, not commenting on any particular case or the obviously loaded question he was asked.

Now some in the NO camp might take comfort from this, but the EU are no more popular here than they are down south. If people really believe that independence means no more EU, that could gain the YES campaign votes, rather than lose them.

Also, if Mr Barroso's suggestion that Scotland would be a "New state" is correct, those down south should consider the implications of that before crowing about it.
Every cloud has it's silver lining

I think most down here want to get out of the EU more than many Scots want to get out of the UK.

Yeah there are more little Englanders down south

What surprises me is that the information on Europe is vital to the vote, the Scottish people should know what is what because they seem to be getting bullsh*t from both sides.

I think most are reacting to 20 years + of anti Europe bullshit and most haven't considered the consequences of leaving Europe.

BTW if there was a way of chucking a country out of the EU, the UK would have been out on it's arse many years ago.

=D>

a useful political football Europe - with an unfair and biased media choosing to blame them for our own political failings - deflection is often the easiest response.

I'm Guessing It's because some voted to leave the United Kingdom and form a newly Independent state...and like all other EU Wannabees you would have to apply to Join and then be placed the back of the queue and hope that every other country in the EU would vote for you to join their Obnoxious EU beurocracy.

And to be honest, I can't see the Likes of Spain who are having their own issues with Independent Wannabees being to keen to promote Wee Ecks bid of Eurocracy for Scotland.

In a very odd Turn around of events it may Inspire the Scottish Eurosceptics to Vote For Indy just to Escape the dreaded EU whilst causing the Pro-Eurotrash Loving SNP to vote against Indy just to stay within their beloved EU Heaven..
