Minicab driver’s sex assault on SAS wife A BULGARIAN minicab driver has been jailed for 13 years for sexually assaulting the wife of an SAS soldier away fighting in Afghanistan.Nikolay Hristov, 35, picked up the woman and a female pal after a night out in the regiment’s home town of Hereford.
He dropped off the friend — but instead of taking the soldier’s wife home he pulled into a secluded lane and attacked her on his back seat. Hristov, convicted at Hereford Crown Court on Thursday, faces deportation after serving his sentence.
Judge Toby Hooper QC described Hristov as a “dangerous and calculated offender”.
Det Insp Martyn Barnes added: “This was an appalling offence. Hristov is a highly dangerous individual who preyed on a particularly vulnerable female. I would like to pay tribute to the enormous courage displayed by the victim.
“This crime has had a devastating impact on her life and her loved ones. She has remained dignified and resolute, motivated by the fact she would be preventing other women from becoming his victims.”
