Hows your membership coming along?

It's bigger than yours, so don't knock it.

Yes i've just looked at the 'membership' list, I get the feeling its another [edited by admin] take between 'TDO' and '[edited by admin]' members, I wish someone would start posting.

The PCO has no system in place for minicabs (unbelievable) they tell you to contact the Metropolitan Police, they in turn tell you its not a priority . . . . maybe i'll contact John Griffen at Addison Lee, that will get the ball rolling . . . . . . oops its these soggy cornflakes again.

I can well understand your reluctance to talk to the PCO, so I have a great suggestion.

You may have heard of a taxi driver's association in London, I believe it has about 7,000 members. So why not ring their tout-line? :-k

Well some clown with nothing better to do was kind enough to register our IDs on there, if that's what you mean.

Saved us the bother though

It's looks as if they might be getting a little bit warmer.

Driver is held over taxi rape

A taxi driver has been arrested after a woman claimed she was raped in his cab.

The 35-year-old Hackney carriage driver was detained following information given to the police as a result of an appeal in the Evening Chronicle.

Northumbria police today confirmed a man had been arrested on suspicion of rape and given police bail pending further inquiries.

Newcastle command area detectives trawled through CCTV footage when the alleged sex attack was reported.

They released this picture of a Hackney cab, which is alleged to have picked up the woman in a queue outside The Gate complex in Newcastle city centre.

The woman, 45, had been out with friends at The Gate and got in a cab to go home. She was driven to Scarborough Court, Walker, Newcastle, where she was allegedly raped shortly after 2am on Saturday, April 9.

Police asked Chronicle readers for help and Det Insp Lee Buzzeo, of Newcastle command area, said: "A man has been arrested on suspicion of rape. We are waiting for the results of forensic tests and further inquiries have been made. A man has been given police bail until next month."

The woman had been standing alone in a taxi queue outside the complex at around 2am. A man the woman knew was helping her to get a taxi and they spoke to the driver of one car, which then drove off.

A second car drove up, believed to be a new model Fiat Doblo, and the woman got into the front seat.

She was taken to a spot at the rear of TJ Taxis in Walker, where she alleged she was raped. Tony McAllister, owner of the TJ Taxi firm, said he was shocked by the incident.

He said at the time: "We have helped the police with their inquiries. It has nothing to do with any of our drivers and we were horrified to hear something like this could have happened so near to us."

NAnyone with information should call Det Con Terry Egdell on (0191) 2146555, extension 62253 or 62226.

Has there been any further progress on this incident?

seems a strange place to take someone to rape them!

was he offered sexual favours in liu of payment?

seems guilty until proved innocent, drunk woman are funny animals, our ciscuit ask if we are prepared to take loan females, considering saying no after reading about things like this, if he's guilty fine, castrate the Basturd, but there may be more to this than meets the eye, if it had been some dark ally, in the middle of nowhere, but the back of a taxi office, must have cars coming and going, not a place where you would purposely take someone and rape them, or maybe you would, I'm not that way inclined, but seems starnge to me.

Strange that Greenbadgecabby didn't mention this story when tarring all LPH drivers.

Still at least the PCO will allow us to use E7s. :D

Whats Newcastle got to do with the London Taxi trade, and the London Minicab drivers who continue, even after Licensing to commit sexual assaults on their passengers?

I don't 'tar' all private hire drivers, because 99% of PH throughout GB are licensed in the same way as Taxi's, its just some London Minicab companys and drivers have very very short term memory retetion problems. :-|
