How was it for you? Armegeddon or one of the best yet? Mine was, at best OK. Seen it busier other weekends. Still no "buzz" about Xmas round here.

Got my obigatory f*ckwit just after midnight, all the same. 4 in car, 3 tell me address to go to (via Asda) and 4th says nothing. Said destination is then discussed, mentioned and agreed numerous times, until...........2 turns away from the street he pipes up, "not this way!!" I says it's the only way. "No, it's the next one" Other 3 tell him he's wrong, but he knows best so as he's in front I change to go "his way" saying OK, if I'm wrong show me the better way. A few growls and expletives later we arrive at a completely different street and house from where I was first asked to go. Not that far from original, but no direct route between them. Turns out Fannybaws has decided to go home without saying anything to the others, or more importantly, me. Did he apologise for his attitude to my not knowing where I was going? Did he feck. After paying (no tip) he leaves the car and tries to make the passenger door fit my side. To$$er.

But seeing as he was the worst of the night, I'll put it down to a good night's labour and leave it.

Rant (of sorts) over.

Grandad I have my own base my car, all calls come to me, and I can easily do 5 runs an hour, sometime more depending on where the punter is, on mad Friday everyone stops work at 12PM here, so its hectic all day and night, after 6.30 PM there are no local buses so it get even more hectic, with a mixture of calls flag downs and immediate pick ups from the rank,
I even posted how many runs on FB this morning while waiting a few mins for my last run, ask Nidge
So a run to Langlee takes 5 mins and a punter phone from there I just tell them to be outside or they will have to wait half an hour so they are waiting for me :D

London's been quiet this week, busy after midnight, and the trains to heathrow being down for 48 hours helped, but that's me until next Friday.

Done ok, but nothing like a few years ago during party season.

There has to be some kind of restrictions just for public safety.

Every other forum about taxis in the uk tells me drivers are struggling this last fews years . . . Apart from one bloke in Galasheils.

Galasheils, that hot bed of night clubs, 5 star hotels, casinos, strip clubs and one bus an hour to Edinburgh.

I never stopped except for the 2 coffee breaks I always take when I work all night, having said that I never do on a Friday and Saturday. Difference this Friday was the punters being a little more generous :D
