Did you know that 60per cent of people on benefit are in employment ?

So does that mean the Tax Payers are subsidizing employer's business's :D :D :D

Yes, and it's been going on for years.

But if it wasn't for those employers it would be 0 per cent, and 100s of 1000s of extra people wouldn't be working.

But your mates in the Tory party are trying to reduce it, so as a certain person once said 'rejoice, rejoice at that news'. :D

I wonder how many fewer HC/PH drivers there would be if HB+WFTC was done away with....

firstly many of those employers probably could not pay a high wage because their customers would not be able to pay high prices. Most business people would love to pay higher wages IF they could ask for a good price for their goods or services BUT the reality is Britain is a nation of cheapskates who want the cheapest possible price for everything so employers cannot pay higher wages because they would either lose all their customers or go out of business after cheap foreign imports made by people on a tenth of the wages are snapped up by their customers in preference to the home made product !!!!

In a manufacturing industry perhaps.

Taxis/PH are a service industry.
In some areas state benefits are subsidising most if not all employers in what would otherwise be an unprofitable business.
It has also excluded anyone who doesn't qualify for these benefits.

the majority of taxi/ PH drivers are self employed and this does not mean that only those on benefits can gain entry to work

the problem with our trade is that everyone outside it is looking to drive down fares for the benefit of consumers that includes

1) customers constantly phoning round trying to get the best price
2) councils licensing too many drivers which benefits their own coffers AND gets them votes by being able to claim policies designed to keep public transport costs down
3) the ridiculous border control policies of the UK which allow a plentiful and uninterrupted supply of low skilled foreign drivers enabling the less scrupulous operators to keep their prices at rock bottom
4) Consumer organisations and TV pundits constantly advising people to Haggle over all prices
5) A total lack of any proper inland revenue registration scheme allowing drivers to work for cash in hand

Far too many are bogus self employed.

There are plenty of other reasons for the race to the bottom, including some of the examples you cite.
The bottom line is that, in many cases, the benefit system is being abused to subsidise drivers who otherwise would never have got into the game, and to prop up offices which would otherwise have to close.

I've said this before but in relation to the likes of the big super market chains. They may brag about the amount of jobs they create but what they don't tell you is very few of the jobs they create are full time. Many are only for 15 contracted hours but then they let workers work extra hours to make up money, but not consistently. If however they have their holidays they only get the 15 hours holiday pay they are contracted to, it's a scam on a large scale imo. Also because you're only contracted to 15 hours you're not entitled to WTC but you entitled to other benefits. These companies are a drain on our resources paying little back by way of employers contributions.

Paid holidays are EARNED not gifted

Working part-time

Part-time workers are also entitled to a minimum of 5.6 weeks of paid holiday each year, although this may amount to fewer actual days of paid holiday than a full-time worker would get.

Example
A worker works 3 days a week, their leave is calculated by multiplying 3 by 5.6 which comes to 16.8 days of annual paid leave.

not so sure about this one, when you apply for a CRB check, it asks for your NI number, this is then cross checked back, and the driver wont be able to work undeclared for too long.
