If I had been asked this question 5 years ago it would have been simple. I would have voted to be in. I was just in the process of buying my appartment in Spain at the time and it would have been a simple decision. Now I am not to sure. The appartment that cost me €95,000 is now worth at best €35,000 and you can pick up appartments in the same town for anything from €22,000 upwards now. The bank that now owns the unsold appartments in the block where mine is have just had a sale. They sold 20 appartments last month with prices starting at €24,000. Anyone looking for a bargain, now is the time to buy.

OUT we dont need them .
Trade if we have something at the right price they will still buy from us,
All the money that is sent to the EU could be better spent in GB,where the priorrity should be.

Europe would close it's borders to UK trade. No if's buts or maybe's.
All companies who set up here with a view to the European market would leave.
The City of London would cease to exist as a World financial sector.

And of course the right wing would no longer have the Europeans to blame for everything from immigration to bent bananas.

It has never been anything other than a gravy train for politicians.

Look at it this way; If you were putting more into "Anything you care to name" and getting less back..............what would you do ? because that is the situation that we are in.

We have far too many immigrants, legal and illegal, all caused by other countries ruling the roost! Our politicians are happy to go along with it because they 1. do not have to live anywhere near them 2. will not lose their jobs or have their pay undermined/devalued - you and I are stuffed, and our country will never be the same.

Look at it another way. There is something like 165/185 in the world! We have people worrying about trading with 27/28 of those countries.............O'dear how will we manage as it only leaves another 130 countries to barter/trade with!!!!!!

In fact look at it anyway you like - we joined in 1973, to state the bleedin obvious - 40 years ago!!!! We have politicians doing the hokey cokey over it year in year out!! they themselves after 40 years cannot make their minds up - in,out,in,out.............what does that tell you?!!!

I would be out in a flash, it has NEVER been right, and never will be for the likes of you and I.

Can anyone tell me of one single benefit that there is for staying in - never mind the City! - just a reason for yourselves and your loved ones..............think of you!! as it is a rich boys toy at the moment that is seriously broken, basically because they have thieved themselves to death.

I always understood it to have been created with a single objective and that was to ease trade between the countries and imo that is all it should do. How would I vote? I'm not sure because I really don't know enough about it and all the pros and cons.

In 1973 didn't we join the common market? Wasn't this supposed to be the way to open up the trading links between the countries of Europe? If things had stayed like that, I think it would be fine. But things didn't stay like that did they.

Out!

The EU still need our goods regardless of whether we stay Members of this needlessly Expensive EU club or not.

The Worse that could happen is we stop Exporting to the EU and Start Exporting more to the rest of the World, or better still, only buy UK goods or other goods from Non EU countries and Import bugger all from Europe, least of all their dopey EU Laws and soppy Human Rights guff.

At least then It might stop the Flood of Millions of EU migrants from swamping this nation and who are soaking up our state Benefit and Pension pot money faster than bread soaks up gravy.

Do we have anything to export anymore?

I have to laugh.

UK politicians, both Tory and Toryesque, as well as the press have spent 40 years demonising the EU, and to a certain extend blaming it for the UK's own failings.
You might say these turkeys are coming home to roost.

Meanwhile successive Westminster regimes have allowed almost all of our traditional industries to disappear. The UK is a net importer and has been for many years.
What industry is left is here because we have access to the European market. UK opt outs have made trading conditions more favourable here than in other parts of Europe. Remove EU access and they will relocate.

Westminster has paid lip service to the electorate's concerns over immigration because, in reality, they need immigrants as cheap labour and to drive down wages among the rest of the workforce.
Ask yourself, if the UK can negotiate a huge budget rebate, opt out of half of Europe's major policies and not join the Euro, why couldn't they stop EU citizens having the right to stay, work, claim benefits etc here?

We produce very little that the rest of the world can't make themselves and a lot cheaper too. The world owes the UK nothing, and that is what they will do for you. They have spent 40 years organising their own trading arrangements and aren't going to put themselves out to do the UK any favours.

There is no turning back the clock, and anyone who thinks different is seriously deluded. Exit the EU and you may as well turn out the lights.

BTW I'd be the first to say that the EU is in need of some serious reform, but cutting off your nose to spite your face is not the answer.

Well if we do, perhaps Bloodnock might tell us what it is?

No..but your point is just as relevant to Scotland wanting out of the UK as Great Britain wanting out of the EU is.
