Indeed we are ha ha and remember many of these will be heading for the Hack and PH industrys unless you have organised to stop them "market forces" ie Tory philosophy means BANKRUPTCY for you, unless you achieve control of the numbers of Hack and PH licenses quickly!!

How about shutting down the Von Windsor PARASITICAL SCAM that would save at least £200 million a year http://www.republic.org.uk

ever been in those old mansions and castles? freezing, no heating

there are 1000's of shops empty (Comet, Jessops, HMV, Blockbusters for starters) that would make excellent shelters, with heating, toilets and kitchens.....

Hardly surprising imo with the further advancement of online shopping and the likes of Netflix etc. It was few years ago when Boots flagship store (the most profitable store) went from an actual store to their online store. Keep people in their homes, don't have them meeting up for anything. The smoking ban soon had them staying home, less meeting, less chatting, less complaining, less organising, less trouble for the authorities  We have become hermits within a nanny state

But would you have invested in those three?

Comet have lost out to the cheaper on-line offerings and the big supermarkets.

Jessops have lost out to the millions of mobiles.

Blockbuster and HMV have lost out to downloads both legal and illegal.

I'm afraid business have got to adapt to the future not live on past glories.

Hence the LC. :D

Agree but it's a lot of people out of work.As toots said before were more interested sat on computer ordering whatever we want. Can't believe how Americanized we have become. We want to shop everything under one roof I. e Tesco ect...Never step foot in the door personally, or mMcDonalds, subway and the like.I try and shop at independent stores like local butchers greengrocers but it's getting harder.

All these names will not disappear but the cost of retail premises is too high Comet already had an online side to their business as did Jessops who used to have a mail order sales arm in the 70's if I remember correctly operating out of their Leicester warehouse and I can see Blockbuster reemerging as a major rival to love film over the next 2 years it is this just the painful transition from high street to online retailing warehouses and direct delivery are cheaper than shops the brands are too valuable to disappear

so you blame banks and HMG for the increased sales and decreased costs of online selling?...

been on the mushrooms again ya Luddite?

How many jobs have been CREATED by Amazon and others (in warehousing and despatch) across the UK and kept RM/Parcelforce/DHL in business?....

Blockbusters .... who rents films now?....
