Hi can any one advise me where i can do a btec award in transporting by taxi and ph i am based in east riding but the only one i found is Hull college but its a mon to friday 9 til 5 one week course and since am only driver of our company thats means closing for 5 days was hoping there was a online course but not found any yet any help appreciated

yeah is for new drivers 12 months to complete it.

There's an outfit based up north who done ours via Carshalton College. they came to our place to do the nvq stuff as they were doing others in the area. It cost nothing except our time.

TBH, we learnt very little, the instructor learnt more from us I think!! But, at least we can say we done it for what it's worth. It may seem a waste of time for us who have been in transport for years, but for new entrants, I fell they do need some basic training rather than just be let loose on the unsuspecting public!

But then it could be said that the ignorance of a lot of cab driver shows. The problem with the NVQ and BTEC is that neither offer any education as to how to price jobs or the economics of running the business. Loads on how to deal with wheelchairs though. :?

There's nothing stopping people writing to Edexcel and the like to suggest this type of input :D

Edexcel don't do the pricing of the course that's up to the providers :wink:

That's like customers complaining to drivers instead of the LO :? The providers don't set the syllabus :wink:
