don't you think that's got to do with selling the cars into Europe rather than the UK and the UK government giving them really decent terms for setting up? or are you really believing the shipbuilders of sunderland can turn their hands to anything?

We should dump the EU and get back to our commonwealth trading partners, Australia, New Zealand and the USA, at least they speak our native tongue

Ermm, since when have the citizens of the US of A spoken "our" native tongue? ISTR reading that in a vote in 1800 and something there was a vote in the USofA as to whether English or German would be their native tongue.

Since English won by a very small margin, we've been 2 great countries divided by a common language. Sidewalks, lisenses,centers, weak beer (unlike most EU beer which is generally stronger and cheaper than ours). The EU, where diesel this weekend was eu1.38 a litre in Holland and France, just over £1.10....sensible speed limits...better health services than us with no 3 month waiting lists...

Alright, Wannabeahack, just some more utter tosh from a hun - you´re free to leave the EU and you´re free to come back, it´s a union based on free will, of equals (not economically, though) unlike the commonwealth and the UK, which are remains of imperialism.
And as for the language, well, last time I heard, EU´s common language was English.
So, basically you guys have everything what you could ask for and are still not satisfied.

Just this Sunday I drove a Spaniard to Zurich, guy didn´t speak a wooord of English, that was dull!

Lets not forget that damned EU bringing in the working time directive forbidding employers from making employees work more than a 48 hours week :roll:

Or them interfering to ensure equal pay :roll:

Or them giving agency workers the same rights as normal employees :roll:

What's wrong with not having to work more than 48 hours a week? Why TF should anyone HAVE to work silly hours just to pay the bills?

The attitude I find in western Europe is that they work hard and play hard; time off is generally spent with families, hence a better quality of life all round and it shows. They never had to rely on overtime to get a decent wage as they already HAD a decent living wage. Oh, and the schools don't shut when it snows! :D

the 3 answers are:-

1. - opt out clause
2. - employ under 21's or women
3. - 13 week contracts

I agree entirely - I was merely pointing out it was EU legislation - yet the EU is being looked at as if it was some evil empire

If you have any doubt as to why France and the UK are so interested in Mali right now perhaps you should consider the following story from April last year;

http://www.theatlantic.com/internationa ... ty/255699/

I draw your attention to the following paragraph;

Mali is a second-tier producer of gold and one of a group of West African countries who together export significant amount of cotton. Both gold and cotton are trading at historic highs. In February, two exploration companies, one Canadian and the other Algerian, signed an agreement to begin prospecting for oil in northern Mali.

Its all about the oil.

Taken at the point of a bayonet by an empire which had no more right to it than the settlers they threw out.

British Imperialism at it's worst.

Europe or the EU well the mugs voted us in despite the LEFT saying don't, all these years later where do we stand ?? I don't think anyone knows all we see on here are semi literate prejudices.

What I would like to see would be a referendum where the debate might just reveal the real situation, for sure the corrupt media will distort and exaggerate and back their self interest but in the age of the internet much will leak out and possibly we will be in a position to make an informed decision?

Any way yes to referendum soon, as for the way I will vote I await the debate.

I am sure Milibland Cameron and Clegg will back the call for a referendum and it will take place after the 2015 general election which Labour will win, all party's will be split on this issue UKIP merely a collection of loonies :Dwill damage the Tory's he he :D
