Got a shock today just heading out of town at 5 to 8 this morning and 2 muntjack suddenly came out of a track at the side of the farmhouse which is the last house before the fields at full tilt one missed but the second hit with a loud bang and fell dead on the opposite side of the road. traffic heavy so i had to pull over in a layby 200 yards ahead I thought here we go another massive bill. Amazingly no damage to the exterior of the vehicle but I suspected that the deer had actually gone under the vehicle but no signs of major fluid loss so carried on and got my garage to check the vehicle over later on

NO DAMAGE !!!!!

What are the odds of that being hit by a deer and no damage

and no I didn't pick it up first because of the heavy traffic and second as I hit it that would count as poaching although I have disappointed family friends and garage mechanics who were all hoping for a bit of cheap venison !

It'd be in the boot and I'd be on me way home sharpening my knife.

I lived in the countryside for most of my life but I still wouldn't know what to do with a dead animal to prepare it for the oven.

I know what to do with a Muntjack, make sure it's a dead and that's it.

Around here, if I knew what to do, I could live quite nicely on rabbit, pheaseant, the odd muntjack and even proper deer. Mind you, I might need a bigger car if I am going to hit a full size stag.

Pheaseant needs to be hung for a few days before you eat it, if not it's stringy, wait until the maggots start to appear out of the eyes then your good to go. Rabbit on the other hand, it can be killed skinned and in the oven within 15 minutes. Live off the land, live off the land.

Bring back Cow and Roo bars, Deer and Pissheads bounce right off em.
