Star 75 and Private Pile are a pair of beauties. Why did they have illusions of grandeur and now their taxi world is falling apart they say. It doesn't have to they can have their high standards, their investment and morals, just no at the airport, what a pair of fuds.
Talking of fuds, no words of wisdom on the perilous state of the (CRT) trade from the master fud Travis.Travesty is the situation according to the sheeple, when can we expect his pish?
You know, after all the years fighting with the council and predicting everything that was going to befall the taxi trade. It comes as no surprise to me the rats, have finally turned on each other.
You see, the funny thing about being a rat, is that a rat does what a rat does, in order to survive but at the end of the day. You are still a rat. And that’s the nature of things.
However, to become something more than just a rat, you need to make a commitment not only to yourself but to each other.
You need a set of protocols or a code of correct conduct to protect everyone recognised as being one of you. You need to cover one's back against all aggressors. And that includes your committees, the council and the Cab Inspector or anyone who might make a complaint, rightly or wrongly, against a fellow taxi driver and brother.
Oh and that should also mean coming up with a system of issuing plates to all who commit to your club, and that doesn’t include someone paying thousands of pounds for someone to walk away.
The value of being a taxi driver should be in the legacy you are leaving your sons and daughters or anyone worthy of making a commitment, and not to scurry off like a rat, when faced with adversity or your work being done.
If the whole is not greater than the sum of its parts, you are fu*ked.
You will reap what you sow – enjoy.
Aye boab, it will be interesting to see what the rats do next.
