The cab is the last place I'd want to be if I was suffering a condition which left me unable to lift heavy things.

You make a good point, alas for many the cab trade is their only way to feed their bellies.

So they put up with it.

I am at lifelong risk of a parastomal hernia if I lift too much. But, rather than resort to law, I make an effort to gently explain to customers that the case or bag is too heavy for me to lift on my own. They normally insist on lifting it themselves or, sometimes, we may share the lift. I have never yet had an unfriendly reaction from anyone. LO unofficially approves of my approach although has said she would have to follow procedures IF she ever received a complaint. My aim is to deal with people in such a way that she never receives a complaint. Everyone is happy and the court's time has been saved for dealing with criminals!!

I appreciate the situation with a WAV could be a little different.

If the vehicle was licensed as a WAV, it should have it's ramps in working order or it should be off the road.
