Plenty of times

course you have....PMSL, Blackpool uses em for drunks

the majority of WAV hacks see about 5% WAV jobs, some return on the investment

Plenty of wav here have contracts every day,if your on a radio circuit theres wheelchair work. You might think you know it all,but that equates to very little :D

Figures provided by the Departments for Transport and Work & Pensions show that as many as quarter of a million wheelchair users are open to adverse treatment as a result of restrictive taxi licensing restrictions.

Just eleven of the UK’s 375 licensing authorities still cling to the antiquated ‘turning circle’ rule, which rules most modern vehicles out of being used as hackney cabs in these towns and cities. Tragically for disabled people, this means that thousands of wheelchair users face using taxi fleets dominated by vehicles ill-suited to accommodating them safely.

interesting maths

250,000 affected wheelchair users, in 11 LA's? thats 23,000 persons per area

all wanting a WAV? yer, and im the next pope

so if a TX2/4 is at the front and an E7 is behind, the wheelchair user can elect to use the E7 without the TX2/4 owner getting stroppy over rank ettiquette?...

it does mean that all's well in 364 out of 375 LA's...

mind your, if they get 23,000 WAV jobs thats.....837,000 AV jobs - plus non-WAV jobs....

It may well be the case that 11 out of 375 hang on to the antiquated turning circle, but just how many authorities hang on to the even more antiquated position of non provision of wheelchair accessible taxis?

Isn't it about time that councils (such as say, the Borders) should insist on WAV's? 100% too, as there are squillions of wheelchair bound passengers out there just gagging for a service of ANY description?

Jimbo the boot could also be on the other foot, all those councils that stipulate WAV only leaving the ambient disabled and pensioners out to use PH
At least 97% of Scottish council screw the head and have mixed fleets

not one of these...

I have a few times but not off a rank and it depends on how heavy it is because many of these are either too heavy for the rating of my ramps or simply too big to turn around and strap in

Ambient disabled? Do they listen to Brian Eno?

I carry lots of AMBULANT disabled passengers, and also lots and lots of pensioners.

NEVER, never, have I been unable to (safely) carry a passenger because of age or infirmity, even in the Metrocab years, (1992 - 2010)

You have the neck of a girraffe to come on here and post propaganda which 101% of people on here recognise as blatant advertising.

STFU, or I'll get Allied to demonstrate how versatile their vehicles are to your licensing department.

And at 1120 this morning you claimed 85%. There's a lot happening North of the border.

You can't possibly know that, but, it would be interesting to find out how many could and would prefer to do so. I find it quite irritating that these groups do research but never ask this all important question.

They ASK what they want to PROVE, no more, no less

 Wow you do surprise me
