Taxi driver arrested after assault claim

A TAXI driver has been arrested by police investigating a report of a serious sexual assault in Notts on Wednesday night.

Officers said the alleged attack on a 26-year-old had happened in Radcliffe-on-Trent last night.

Police are appealing for information about the incident.

A taxi driver, in his 30s, was arrested in Colwick.

A police spokeswoman said: "He is currently helping police with their inquiries. The investigation continues and the victim is being supported by specially trained officers."

Woman arrested after attack claims

A 26-YEAR-OLD woman has been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.

It follows an allegation made last week by a woman that she had been seriously sexually assaulted in Radcliffe-on-Trent on February 20 .

As a result of that complaint and police inquiries, a taxi driver in his 30s was arrested and interviewed by detectives. This man has since been released without charge.

The arrested woman has been bailed pending further enquiries.

This is how it should be reported until the 'suspect' is found guilty, the damage to this mans reputation would have been irreparable after such claims even if untrue
