I asked a question on another post entitled The Usual Suspects and thought it deserved its own topic.

Everyone seems to have beliefs, ideas and thoughts that the Edinburgh Hackney Taxi Trade is on the road to destruction. Whether it be because of Central and City's fall outs, PH taxis, council regulations, no one seems to have any ideas how the trade can begin to repair itself. Some may not care as Skull said on the other post but that doesn't mean you can't have an input Skull!

Your thoughts I look forward to hearing!!

A very good question Mr Soze. You will find there won't be many thoughts or opinions voiced as success is never as interesting to talk about as failure!

There will be silence from the The Usual Suspects Mr Soze!

Around here, you need to sit the same knowledge test to drive a PH as you do for a Taxi.

It works pretty well too.

The times I have used them, when mini Sussex lived in Edinburgh, my view was they were as good as anywhere. 9 out of 10.

The down side is the politics and back stabbing we see on here, and on the Edinburgh Taxi Forum. 0 out of 10.

I like that idea. If all things were to be equal then the PH should have to sit a knowledge test. It would result in a lot of current PH drivers not being able to work as they haven't got a clue.

I look forward to hearing what you think should happen Skull! Not like you to be backward at coming forward!

Oh!! welcome to the 21st century! Brighton have had the same test for hacks and PH since the 60's when we were the first to license PH. For a fee you can have either or both(Not dual),IMO it should be the same in every LA. Apologies for posting on the Scottish forum!!
