I'm getting really excited now. I'm looking forward to new horizons beginning on the 15th of April.

I'm so glad City Cabs will be involves in the front line of Superior Sevice Quality for Edinburgh Airport passengers.

How long can CRT survive with the huge discounts handed out?

Is there any CRT owner that would be able to let us know how much they are having to pay in Discount Subs at the moment? I would imagine they will be quite high. The drivers are starting to vote with their feet though, there are many on the move! I wonder if the CRT committee are regretting their decision to go it alone. I bet they are sick.

That's what happens when the Ego grows to big.

City Cabs will be embarking on a new venture at the Airport in 9 days time. Once again let's hope the entire Edinburgh Hackney Taxi Trade get right behind them in support of this magnificent achievement. I have no doubt what so ever that City Cabs will provide a first class service that the travelling public will feel honoured to be a part of.

I sure all will agree that the Honesty and Integrity shown by the City Cabs committee has proved they are a step ahead of the competition. I'm sure the Members/Drivers will embrace the new situation and work diligently to make sure City Cabs are spoken about for all the right reasons.

The futures bright the futures Green Carbon Neutral City Cabs.

Still no CRT guys willing to let us know just how disastrous the situation is. Fat Boab will know the answer!

This is unbelievable. I'm taking a guess the CRT disc subs will be £155 for the month? If that figure is accurate then that means that with radio fees the owners will be paying an estimated £515 per month. Now if they were to have the Airport Permit at present that would be £555, I bet they're relieved they won't have to pay the Airport permit soon.

Now I could have the figure totally wrong so come on CRT tell me I'm wrong! I find it incredible that CRT have never backed up any of their statements with concrete evidence that it wasn't their choice to go alone at the Airport. City Cabs on the other hand not only invited in their own guys but they invited Central owners and drivers as well.

It's so transparent who is telling the truth yet most are still blinkered, neigh logic to the thinking!!

One question if you don't mind.....did you get a free plate and sell it like liar Skull??
I hope you're aware the righteous one didn't leave by his own accord but got papped out the taxis.

Plates are not free. To be so they would have to have a value in the first place.

taxi licence plates are owned by the council. So, whenb you shelled out for yours, what were you buying.

If you can get round the Caveat Emptor gig, you might just be able to take the guy who relieved you of your cash to court for fraud. Because when he sold you something you can't own, he defrauded you.

But the good news doesn't end there. because when you've humped him, he can in turn hump the council, for putting in place a system which allowed him to think he had the right to hump you.

Everyone gets humped, everyone gets unhumped. Except the council, who carry the final bill.

Just imagine if the council were made to pay compensation for the 1300 or so plates it allowed to be bought and sold despite the Act saying they couldn't.

The council's bill could be £4-5 million. And that's before punitive damages and claims from those denied unfettered access to the tools of their trade. Then there could be criminal charges against some for allowing it happen, and a Parliamentary enquiry into how it all happened in the first place.

Juicy!

I think instead of mocking other hard working cabbies Kaiser you and i should just be thankful City cabs have the people willing to make sensible business decisions.

I'm not mocking Artur. I just can't believe the members are being forced to pay £155 per month to subsidise the contracts won by suicidal business measures. I'm sure you would agree that is just crazshy Artur!

You make a good point though regarding sensible business decisions.

What are your thoughts on the level of discount subs Artur. I must say again the figure quoted may be incorrect but I think it will be around that figure.

It can't be as much as £155!! That's ridiculous. That's the problem with the discount route, only one way to go and that's offering bigger discounts.
