What is disappointing is that those in the big two seem to think the world owes them a living. They view themselves in isolation and can't see the bigger picture of the healthy trade we all need. The tumshies on companies' committee may think they operate in isolation, but when our customers walk away from our trade, they walk away from them too.

Like the guy looking to go from leith walk to Aberdour via D mains to drop off his girlfriend. He wanted the trip for £35 because that's what the price would be with private hire. I refused the job. PH dictated the price for him, but he doesn't dictate my worth to me. (BTW I hope the less than impressed girlfriend realised what the guy was like and dumps him)

But you'd have done the job Artur, wouldn't you?

Reckon aberdour via d mains from leith walk (depending on which part) would be about £45-£47 ish. Which PH firm was it Jimbo that he got the quote from?

Or was it like in many cases someone wanting to go out of town says "I can get a PH from there to edinburgh for £x! Why don't you charge the same?"

Was it a quiet sun or mon night??

If its about £47 and they were negotiating to pay £35 then it might be worth taking the hit if it means this couple continue to use the black cab service you and I care about.
