Lothian & Borders were inundated with phone calls earlier this evening by panic stricken citizens in various areas of the Edinburgh area believing they were being invaded by an Alien force. Some residents had packed their belongings and were fleeing the city in sheer panic. An investigation was under way immediately and Lothian & Borders can confirm that the "Orange Glow" that was visible in certain ares was due to groups of Central Radio Taxis waiting for work with their hire lights on. L&B are urging residents to return to their homes and where ever possible to use black out blinds to minimise the light.
