Doesn't answer the question of how more taxis can prevent a barrier that prevents acts of terrorism from having a malfunction/glitch?

Terror attacks aren't always made by driving explosives into the target
Nor does the terrorist always plan to escape.
7/7 for example.

Not denying that but according to what skull & Jasbar are implying, if more taxi drivers had access to their own cab to run and if the airport relaxed its limitations there would be less of a queue which terrorists could possibly attack. But in this latest case, a 15min delay, was caused by a barrier, used to prevent terror acts, having a malfunction and the cabs couldn't get to the passengers

It wouldn't take a genius to replicate this delay and exploit it.

Terror attack at Glasgow airport and as a result safety measures are brought in, the likes of barriers and blockades, to try and prevent such attacks happening again

So tell me skull, how many taxis do you think are required to prevent the anti terrorist barrier from having a malfunction, this preventing the taxis to pick up the customers?

If there is not a viable target for the terrorist to attack, then why do you need safety measures the likes of barriers and blockades?

The fact is, all these people being held on the Airport concourse are waiting to be sold to the service provider.

Oh and Longshanks, what's to stop a terrorist hailing your taxi, shooting you in the head, and then driving your taxi fully loaded with explosives, straight into the center of all those people waiting for a taxi?

The barriers are nothing more than an excuse to slow down the whole process even further, simply to protect their Restrictive Practice cash cow. :-|

There's nothing to stop them doing that. But then, if it was an unrestricted taxi market, there would be more cabs available for said terrorist to hijack

(Christ, even writing that sounds stupid and totally implausible)

The Boston Marathon was hit by terrorists because they were guaranteed crowds of people, they bombed buses in London in 2005 and attempted to blow up Glasgow Airport in 2007. What don't you get Longshanks you fu*king arse?

Edinburgh Airport by operating a Restrictive Practice is holding people on the concourse longer than necessary simply to turn a profit. It has nothing to do with customer service or customer safety for that matter. #-o

Oh and Longshanks, the Edinburgh Waverley is no different. #-o

Oh and Longshanks, the Boston Marathon may signify (I’m not saying it will) a change in terrorist tactics to that of easily accessible low value targets. MI5 has already stopped a number of attempted terror attacks in the UK, which we know about. And it’s the same in America, what happened in Boston was only a matter of terrorists slipping through the net.

Do you honestly think that Edinburgh airport is putting customer safety before profits? #-o Not a chance. #-o

Face it skull there are many bigger places where people congregate than taxi ranks. Think sports arena's shopping complexes etc etc. your barking up another wrong tree ( something for your doggy customers to pee on perhaps )

The fact is, a terrorist attack could happen anywhere at any time but that still doesn't justify Edinburgh Airport turning people into targets, so they can make a profit out of charging dummies like you, diesel, to provide a service. #-o

Oh and Diesel, when you grow a brain and a pair of balls, you might just have a point to make but until then... #-o

But ph aren't taxis Jasbar and the council certainly don't see them as taxis
Why is there a difference in applying for a licence on the councils application forms if they where the same

they most certainly are the same, only difference is the public hail.and that's not that relevant anymore.
anyway the tipping point will come when theirs no money for a driver renting a black.
drivers will drift to ph, who will have access to the major hubs and greenways by then and a slow death will have been endured.
tbh what difference does it make really to the passenger or driver ?

the only ones that matter in this equation are the punters and i doubt they will even notice the demise of the blacks, vehicles are the same-ish, access to hubs are nearly equal.
i speak to loads off people who have nothing to do with taxis and the trades view of itself is warped
