Mr McVay, the City Cabs secretary and an instrumental figure in landing the Airport contract referred to as a bellboy. They say actions speak louder than words, how very very true. Scarlet & Lofty has alerted others of this act on the Taxi Forum, thanks for that, lets hope your secretary takes notice and can follow Mr McVay's example. I remember a bellboy who worked in the Dragonara Hotel, the younger guys won't remember that hotel, being ridiculed for merely being a bellboy, his reply "I'd prefer to be a bellboy for a day than a bellend for life". The Secretary of City Cabs has shown that not only can he present tender presentations professionally in a dapper suit, but is prepared to load cases for customers into awaiting taxis in his raincoat. I'm sure the airport authorities would have been suitably impressed by his actions. This has only helped galvanise the strength of the City Cabs work force, and promote a togetherness approach. Two words to describe Mr McVay

"CLASS ACT"

If this is true, City Cabs Committee has done some sort of under-the-table deal with ECPH. Your company won't be your company for much longer.

You are all going to be working for ECPH.

Fasties:
Quote:
After the very successful start at the airport, City cabs have demonstrated their determination to dominate the Edinburgh taxi trade by employing another sales and marketing girl. She has an extensive and intimate knowledge of the taxi trade.
Welcome onboard Terri Burnett.

Terrie Burnett, if my memory serves me correctly, is Colky's woman.

I think the members of City Cabs, and CRT, are being stitched up.

It seems that Street Car owners and drivers are "cock a hoop" at getting access to the Airport Rank under the new management by City Cabs. Some are reporting that they have doubled their takings.

It was always City's intention to open the Airport rank up to all in the Hackney trade as part of their tender proposal. That included Central Radio Taxis and Comcabs as well. The CRT drivers and owners are being denied the opportunity to work the Airport because of Rules in their rule book. Not only have the CRT committee taken the decision to tender alone without consulting their members, they are denied of being able to accept a permit. It seems terrible that owners and drivers incomes could be affected by poor decision making by their committee and not being able to take a permit, after all these guys need to pay mortgages etc just like everyone else.

They say in the Rules of CRT that they are not permitted to work alongside a third party thus denying them the opportunity of working the Airport alongside City Cabs. Why then was it possible, as stated in an earlier published email from CRT's secretary, that Central would be willing to give City Cabs permits to work the Airport if they had won the Airport tender? Would CRT not have been working alongside a third party?????

Well it's not a bad morning, birds are twittering away in the trees. Lets hope it's a good shift today and a good weekend in front for all.
