Surely all this is little More than blatant Advertising Propaganda...why cant Alex slap a ban on it like on other Advertising, It's getting to be in every Scottish Post like some hideous disease...no one else on here self Plugs themselves for ever and ever and ever and gets away with it.

Did you read the post?

To a distant outsider like myself it reads to me that the poster is informing all of the Edinburgh hackney fraternity that they are invited to obtain a permit to work the airport. Don't even have to sign up to a particular circuit.

What's wrong with that?

For anyone taking up this offer I would point out that using a tool such as cabapp on their smart phone will provide them with a free credit card facility.
They might even have to move off rank to pick up customers who have hailed or prebooked with cabapp before touching down.

Would like to point out it also accepts the big spending American $xpress, card but that might be advertising so I won't.

Thanks Cabhappy. It's nice to read a reply to a post that isn't full of bile and you actually comment on a part of my post that's relevant.

Skull and Jasbar take note!

You nearly blew it though mentioning A Express.

Seems pretty much slanted to plugging City Cabs to me...

Well, I feel I must congratulate Terri Burnett on her new appointment. =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> I also think. The real players in this game, and they know who they are, deserve some credit, for their fiendish plot to stitch-up CRT. =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>

However, I do suspect that, King Malcolm is behind the main plan to take control of all the taxi/Ph contract work in Edinburgh, and who gets a slice of what pie. I can't believe that you boys came up with this scheme all on your own, but if you did, give yourselves a pat on the back from me. =D> =D> =D> =D>

There is one thing, I can't work out, but I am sure all will be revealed soon enough. :?

Oh and did anyone tell you that what you are doing is illegal? Image

Don't take off on one if you have never been a perp. I am no angel or paragon of virtue either.

I know it is not the case but to other outsiders looking in the Edinburgh Taxi trade could be viewed as the most aggressive, foul mouthed people in the country.

And I don't care who started it. :D

Due to the increasing interest in the CC committee they've decided to do a naked calendar for charity.

Top billing will be the Professionals of course....

For those that like the right said Fred look then you're in for a treat as you'll have not 1 but 2 to drool over....

Style and class in appearance then the silver fox is your man.

What about sophistication and intelligence then get those lights low and enjoy the Bear.

Last but not least is the youngest member of this boy band and sure to get hearts racing....

So for those that give to charity this is a great cause and for those with other interests (jasbar) I'm sure you'll enjoy flicking through it!

I've seen more pass me by in this trade than on a conveyor belt on the Generation Game.

I may have a few years left in the trade yet but your right about Skull. He professes that he has left the trade, so do as Fannyadams says and depart!

All the 3 companies go through a purple patch when business is good and all is well. It was only a few years ago i was offered a city cab position for half what they are asking now.the seller wanted out and was prepared to take the loss on his "share".
i declined the offer as biz was good, but things can change very quickly in the taxi trade. I do not remember though, any of my friends in city or central laugh in my face when Forward took on the Airport, infact the opposite was true, as a cabbie, it was felt all round, that we all should have had access. I know one thing for sure though, the taxi trade needs a radical overhaul if we are to stave off the PHC.Some despicable things are said on some of these threads, when really cabbies should stick together for the benefit of the trade in general.city cabs may be "streets ahead" v192 & v61 ( if rumour has it,) at the moment, but personally i would like to see the whole cab trade streets ahead.

How do we know you are in the trade? Or Fannyadams or anyone else on here for that matter?

Short answer - we don't.

I totally agree with you Ali. I was highlighting the fact that street cars are reportedly doing well and if all were allowed permits everyone would be doing ok, I'm certainly not laughing at the fact that some drivers may be affected earning wise. It would have been ideal if City Cabs, Central and Comcab had all tendered as one along with Onward, everyone's a winner. Unfortunately that option was taken away by bad decision making.

If however CRT had won the Airport tender I'm sure they would have been sure to let us know about it, as they did with the NHS, RBS and Scot Exec. It would be interesting to hear how Comcab drivers are getting on after CRT took their two biggest contracts.

Well said that man.

Where did the 'streets ahead' thread go?

Oop #-o fud. Merged thread.
