Neath Port Talbot Council to review licensing of taxis and private hire vehicles

A REVIEW of taxi and private hire licensing is being carried out in Neath Port Talbot.

The authority says its existing policy was adopted in 1996.

It carried out a questionnaire-based consultation exercise designed to allow the trade to have an input.

A draft policy has now been drawn up and, assuming councillors agree, will go out for further consultation.

Among the proposals within the policy is to limit taxis and private hire vehicles to five years of age or 75,000 miles.

The matter will be considered on Tuesday.

Is that for first license or for last license?

Hang on, you say an age limit of 5 years or 75,000, is that for new entrants to the trade as you later say no age limit for saloon vehicles?
