I spoke to a City Cabs mate of mine today. Who worked from 16:00h until 02:00h that's ten hours, to make
£111.00 and while he was glad to get it, he says working the airport is not what it's cracked up to be.

Now if it's not brilliant working for City Cabs they must be almost suicidal in CRT. #-o

Oh and next year is being forecast as another downturn in the economy. #-o

I take your point, but unless you land a few plumb jobs, you are far from raking it in. And you need these big nights like the one you've just had to balance out your week.

CRT, drivers must be bokeing ... #-o

That suggests one of two things.

Either that'll be a demand indicator then.

And I suggest another 30 licences

Or you're being fed ...

well if thats what you think then it must be true then #-o
The reality is, as you well know jasbar, taxi driving can be unbelievably good one night and unbelievably bad the next night. It can be weather related event related number of taxis out related end of month related etc etc
The list is endless. Its NOT always the thing you keep banging on about....deregulation.
Also being fed????? Aye on a public place surrounded by other taxi drivers all the good fares were being channeled to me #-o
Silly man............

I followed an 8 seater out of Edinburgh Airport that had ******** Executive Transport advertised on the back of it, It wasnt PH or Hack plated, think it had some mention of being affiliated to CRT or such likes in smaller print. would that be right? if so how isn't it plated as PH.

Two things spring to my mind here. Firstly, you still have the contract exemption in Scotland. And secondly, a lack of enforcement to ask the driver the questions.

Pay attention!

I have NEVER banged on about de-regulation.

Only Justice and fairness.

Fairness to drivers who have to put up with sh*te from owners, and who would operate better with their own licence. And deprived of it by vested interests to protect a plate value that only exists because of the artificial and morally bankrupt restriction of licences.

And fairness to customers who have to suffer a poorer service because of the artificial restriction, which isn't allowed by Law to exist in any other market sector.

As I said, pay attention!

I do try to pay attention to your posts jasbar but it is not easy :D
You say a lot jasbar but sadly it is devoid of logical thought and just a well worn record of your envy of others who have something you don't.
Are you honestly saying if you were an owner as of now you would give me a very low rental to help me and my family???
You know thats bollox just like I do. You would be like any other owner so stop being a silly man. #-o

You clearly don't have the wit to understand the reasoned argument.

If I was operating a taxi I wouldn't be offering you a rental at all.

I have no interest in helping you or your family. You should be allowed to do that for yourself by having access to your own licence.

And I don't do envy. I do justice and fairness.

Equal opportunity for all, to succeed or fail. It matters not to me which. Just that everyone has the same opportunity.

And in our Scotland it doesn't exist. At least not in taxi licensing.

Scotland is not fit to be independent.

Why have they suddenly put 2 marshals at the start of the drop off point in the multi, all there doing is creating more problems by having part of the bays closed off.
I had a disabled passenger to drop and was told to go to the far bay, yet they had the first disabled bay coned off.
It has worked for years without them

I wondered about that as well Skip, Its the Disabled bays they have coned off. Surely that must breach or infringe some kind of Disability rule. yet the ones at the other side of the Drop of Hairpin are left open. The Marshall doesn't seem to do much/Anything.

Must have been a truly Gifted airport manager that decided that you can't drop off at a drop off zone. #-o
