We have just marked the 70th anniversary of the Dambuster raids, no-one complained about the sound of Merlins back in '43

I got out of my car yesterday afternoon. At first I couldn't see it but you couldn't mistake the sound of the Merlin engine. It took a while before it came into view. It is a sound and view that I always enjoy. Another one is the sound of the Red Arrows. They fly over here loads of times in the summer, usually in 2 waves a few seconds apart. I can always tell that they are coming because their engines just sound different to other jets.

What a lovely day it was. The sun was shining, 8) between jobs I spent the day cleaning my vintage buses for their wedding jobs today :) ; birds were flying overhead 8) , I could hear the whistles of the steam trains on the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway 8) ...... then overhead the roar of The Spitfire doing his day trips out of Lydd Airport  .

What spoilt it a bit was talking to the maintenance man where the buses are parked who says how wonderful it is seeing and hearing the Spitfire. Then hearing of complaints from residents of Lympne about the noise of the Spitfire. Don't these t***s REALISE the significance of such a wonderful machine?

BRILLIANT, WHATS THE SPIT DOING OUT OF LYDD DAY TRIPS ???

Wasn't there a nice place available a while ago. It was featured on have I got news for you. A lovely looking place on the advertising but they failed to mention that if you look from the other direction it is right next to Dungerness power station. Will that one do you TT?

Wouldn't bother me living near a Nuclear power station.

£260k.

Trots, plenty of bungalows to rent round here, have to do a google search as I don't personally know anyone who rents them out. Beware though, it's turned UKIP round here, they might not let you cross the miltary Canal!

Yes, the Spit does accompanied day trips from Lydd; it buzzes around with 2 helicopters. You go in the copter and take lots of video of it.

Seen a motor in the Haynes museum with a spit engine in ie a 27 litre supercharged V12 remember reading about the nutter who owned it doing 250 mph on motorway here in 70's #-o sounds like a lot of fun :?: :?:
