Yes he got booked off the system, but he doesn't sit at the rank much, he does more PH work off the datahead, he did have to sit at the rank for the rest of his shift as he could not book into the system, luckily he is now back on

Never heard of that in my life, he isn't a hackney its a saloon taxi, and whats the matter with going into a superstore to see if there are any customers, and she flagged him down he didn't ask her if she needed a taxi

he wasn't surfing just drove in and she flagged him and then the ph spotted a general supposedly nicking his hire

If someone flags me down I stop and they get in simples.

So if you have just dropped at a supermarket your firm has a free-phone at, and someone comes over and asks if you are free you would take them?

If you did that on the firms down here you would be made to give the fare to the driver that lost out, or f*** off.

now im confused

is he a Hackney plated vehicle (matters not what shape) or Private hire vehicle?

Whats the difference between a hackney and a saloon taxi?

are you based in Kabul or something cos im more confused now

if hes hackney PLATED (a taxi) he can take a flag down, if he doesnt what the point of having a Hackney (Taxi) plate at all?

when a base "bans" someone (like a naughty boy) is when they get the radio back

The car is a 10 plate octaiva TDI, in this area you get a general plate (taxi) which can be put on a saloon car or hackney carriage (Some plates are limited to be put on hacks) we refer to a HACK as a tx4 or euro bus which is really a purpose built vehicle. a private (PH) can be put on as a saloon car I.E Passat, octavia, Superb. or up to a 16 seater, he got banned for supposedly "stealing" another drivers hire, the driver who received the the hire (a private) spotted the general (taxi) picking her up from asda, the ph driver complained back to base and the controller asked why the General driver took the hire, she then booked him off the system for 24 HRS, but he is a taxi so he can pick up where ever he likes and he has got a radio in too......... here was me thinking this was a taxi Forum

You dont seem to know that there are only 2 plate types in normal use

1. Hackney (goes on ranks, can take a flag down) some areas demand a WAV, some dont

2. Private hire (none of the above, prebooked only)

Theres no such thing as a "General" other than in the army

You have 16 seater council plated taxis?...really?...something tells me not
