Basically now ive made my desition in buying my own cab,
Theres a cab with a plate selling on the market at a verry good price seeing how the work is i think its worth me buying at that price.
So my question to everyone is are there still any doubts on buying?
The next survey is in mid 2015 and even now there arnt any cab delays As work isnt busy busy busy its just ticking and cabs are available all throu out 24Hours.
During the week there isnt much trade left in town after midnight and there are still cabs available as night drivers still stay on.
Last train varys from Around 2am And after that only a few cabs stay on untill the daytime drivers come on road.
So please i am verry intrested in everyones opinions in buying a cab?

I think the gov will nationally delimit, but not everyone agrees.

In the end it's your money, if you go for it you should get a minimum of 3 years.

Numbers are restricted here to 50 Hackney Carriages Here So thats Why.
Another reason i want to buy is i have a family and want to spend time with them and i cant work in other Towns/Citys so im willing to pay that much.
And if i work on average 10hours during day and get driver on nights i can take home on a good week around £500-550 After Fuel And Expence if You Work Everythink around.

How much on a bad week? how many good weeks are there in a year compared to bad weeks?

I Am currently working nights 8hours during week and 10hours weekends and im taking around 500-600Per week and on good weeks sometimes end of month can push about 650-700 and bad week can be about 500 or sometimes less but since ive been driving never tooken less than 500.
Morning drivers i know of who do about 10hours can take about 80-100,
And ive spoken to the guy i drive for says in week can take around 350 after fuel and rent so say about 250 after all expence if you work it out though out the year + What i give him as driver.
So i can say if i drive days and have a driver nights can easily take home £500 a week after all expences.

I think you may well be right.

I think you are both wrong.
But I do think that you will not be able to sell the "Plate" on in a few years time.
You will sell the vehicle when you have had enough but the plate will go back to the Council. Next on the list will get the plate so long as he/she/they provides an acceptable vehicle.
The stumbling block will be when "Companies" take plates - those will never be returned, so eventually all plates will be in the hands of Companies and all Hackney Drivers will be renters.
For most of us that will not matter, but for our successors it will be a real problem, a decade or two down the line of course.

If I had 50k I'd be setting up my own company never mind buying a cab.

You have got that right!

50k @ £100 per week not including interest is going to take close on the best part of 10 years to square up. If I had access to that amount of money (and I do) - I would NOT............... unless you are not giving us the full story. There is NO way that you give two years profits @ your figures - usually one year max in business unless you are talking in mega figures.........and you are not.

The cab in usage terms is probably a shed! So, in the next couple of years (already 7/8 years old) you will also have to shell out for another one........NOT A GOOD DEAL..................DON'T DO IT.

Real story is i dont want to end up driving private hire,
As in my manor drivers work 12Hours+ 6-7 days a week, Running from one side of town to the other for £3 and i been there checked it out working like that youll be lucky to make £600 and if you work on company car youll only take 40% £240.
Work 72Hours+ in private hire for £240 No Way
And i enjoy working the Hackney trade ive been in it a long time and enjoy it verry much.
Other Option is go drive with my own cab in Milton Keynes but its caos there aswell more cabs coming on road day by day, The train station is where the trade is and minimum 100 cabs rank up there and your lucky to do a fare every 1 1/2 Hour and also dont want to be away from my family,
Cant find another better job so Cabbing is what im stuck with but Hey i enjoy it so its my only Option to buy my own cab, As me personally ill pay whatever to spend more times with my family.

Why ask for advice when you have clearly already made your decision.
