Can ANYONE either from Central or from ANY Edinburgh taxi company show ANYTHING to disprove ANYTHING that Mr Mcvay has stated in his recent posts?
I would just like to see EVIDENCE if there are indeed two sides to this story.
So over to you mrspalding and any others, provide EVIDENCE here so we can all see it. Not rumour and inuendo, actual documentation to show Mr Mcvay is not being truthfull in his posts.

That is nowhere but the usual path of personal abuse by the usual contributors.

City Cabs is an Association that operates for it's members and drivers.
We have also tried in the past to act for the good of the trade as far as that is possible given that we are all in competition with each other. Whether it be Public or Private Hire.

The present Committee at City Cabs have lost out on 3 of the 4 major contracts over the last 18 months but were successful in securing the Airport Rank.

There was no bitterness from us when we lost out on the 3 major tenders other than to justify our actions to our members on just why we thought it was not a good idea to try and match the discounting levels of our competitors.
It was City Cabs first choice to remain within the FTS bid but also recognised that the level of discount being offered on other contracts would have to be paid for. It is not a new way of running a business although it is widely accepted that it is risky. So when CRT pulled out of the bid it was more of a disappointment than a surprise.

The STF has made a decision to make a donation of £5,000 towards CRT legal expenses for objecting to an operation that has already existed at the Airport for the past 5 years and that is to be run by a company that already has booking office licenses at the airport and, more importantly for us, they were objecting to an operation that they themselves were willing to provide if they had been successful. That is why City Cabs could not back it.
There were 10 representatives at the STF meeting not 17. Neither CRT or City Cabs had a vote on whether to approve the donation. 6 members voted to award £2,000 and 2 members voted to award £5,000. Glasgow Taxis being the largest taxi company in Scotland carried the majority of the votes and so the £5,000 award was carried.

The allegations that have followed the award of this contract were expected. The decision by the STF was a let down. It is City Cabs opinion that the money could have been better spent in other areas other than lawyers rubbing their hands in anticipation of even more stupidity.

So Kaiser and Hscc do me a favour and let it go. If any member wants to view any of our recent tender bids they are in the office. That is except the RBS bid as we did not enter into that one again because of the high discount levels.

Les only please ,could you answer the following honestly.

Do you believe the Onward travel rank needed to be fenced off in inception to comply with the CGA 1982 ?

Is it true the CRT and City backed off the onward operation when FTS were awarded the rank ?

Do you think,given your experience in trade matters, that the new proposed set up in the former drop off area will be Legally compliant ?

Do you feel a similar operation could operate in say the Waverley with Private hire drivers ranked( lined up, parked etc) along side Black cabs would be legally compliant ?

You have stated you could not back the STF's support and financial award towards CRT due to an alleged proposed operation/tender put forward by CRT themselves, Did CRT and City not both have a PH solution in their tender submissions as it was mandatory for the airports vision/solution in which both would have taken in the onward fleet (you'll have the pictures from Ocean Terminal to prove it ) as they were a ready made solution and most importantly to the trade, ALL BRIEF HOLDERS ?

If the rumours are to be believed also about the upcoming greenway review, will you and City cabs support,abstain or object to the PH gaining access to the Greenways ?

Finally,You have in the past be at the forefront of our trade against the PH even voicing your dislike of Mr Woodburn at trade meetings he shouldn't be involved in, is it purely commercial that your views and opinions appear to have charged or is there another reason ?

Good morning. First job, hand out Leith to Balerno, 2nd job Juniper Green to the Waverly, this is a great job.

This is a forum Mr Mcvay, I'm entitled to post as I wish, I was asking for some clarification from any CRT members to back up their accusations, knowing they have none I don't see what the problem is. It's just more proof that City Cabs have acted in the proper manner.

No, CRT was forced to pay out. I think it was around 40K plus an apology for the case not to go ahead.
