Taxi driver's court date A RENFREW taxi driver is facing trial accused of making an offensive comment to a passenger which caused her to leave his cab and severely injure herself.
Amer Masood, 46, is said to have uttered the remark during a cab ride in February this year.
Prosecutors claim that, after he said the offending sentence, a woman who was in his car left the vehicle.
The charge against Masood, of Nethergreen Wynd, states that one female passenger left the vehicle because of the comment and fell.
Court papers allege that the woman was badly hurt by the fall.
Masood denies behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by swearing, acting in an aggressive manner and making an offensive comment during a fare on February 16 this year, in Paisley Road, Renfrew.
When his case called at Paisley Sheriff Court on Wednesday, June 5, Sheriff Neil Douglas was told that Masood had pleaded not guilty via letter.
The sheriff adjourned the case until December for a trial to take place, with an intermediate diet in November.
