It's funny how people turn to the bible in times of peril.

Well, if that's the case, then perhaps you can explain why a taxi cooperative throws its lot in with a Ph company, which, in the long run can only serve to expand Ph interests?

How does Leslie and George reconcile two, as elected directors of a cooperative with around 400 members? #-o

It's a strange one don't you think Kaiser. It makes you wonder what their motives are? #-o

Personally, I would have thought the above was like selling your soul to the devil.

You are a very negative thinker Skull. It's all doom and gloom with you is it not. Mr Mcvay and Mr Aird have went through a tendering process as did CRT and Comcab, the only difference being that City won the contract. As to their being any other motives than to secure the biggest contract in the trades history for their members.

There is another thought though Skull. Is it not best to keep your friends close but your enemies closer??? Just a thought Skull!!!

I'm a bit confused here Kaiser. I thought ECPH, were the preferred bidder, and they won the contract? :?

And then, as if by magic, City Cabs were asked to lend a hand, and Leslie and George jumped at the chance to help a major competitor expand their business. #-o #-o #-o

Skull I'll try and explain the situation to you but I think you already get it.

The airport must have a fair amount of service contracts they tender out, they might even have one for wanking dogs Skull. How many of those service contracts do you think the airport encounter such problems? Food outlets refusing to work with each other?? No chance. It's lucky black cabs are in at all as the Airport would be justified to tell us all just to F off.

I'm still working away Skull with a taxi brief that hasn't been REVOKED and I'm still awaiting the great private hire invasion.

They simply cannot retain the drivers which hampers expansion.

Skull what are you doing with your life? Do you really want to spend it on here repeating the same nonsense constantly? Granted in your head your fighting the forces of evil and blah blah blah.

Don't you want to meet a lady? I think comfort would help you.

You need a plan of action Skull because currently you're a waste of a national insurance number.

I don't think you will be able to explain anything to Skull Artur, that is nigh on the impossible. Skull does not live on the same planet for a start, he still believes in "Beam me up Scotty"

It is a fantastic situation that City Cabs have found them selves in. As I said before Skull, you can fight against your competitors and have no idea what they are up to!! They will go for the same contracts as you and will try and prise other work away from you. Now Skull here's the other side of the coin, if you work alongside them, in a working relationship you know what they're up to and could quite possibly have agreements in place that they won't encroach on your work or contracts you have in place. So if there are any agreements in place, that would mean ECPH would be targeting other taxi company's work and not City's. Now if that's not Mr Aird and Mr Mcvay looking after the City Cabs members James Gandolfini
will appear as a candidate for chairman.
I would go as far as to say it is bordering on genius!!!

Just a thought Skull, what do you think. Take your time, [edited by admin] the dogs first!!

The 7 members of the City Cabs committee are voted back in for another year at least. They were the only candidates to stand!!

Now Mr Spalding, Swannee and the resident baker Scarlet & Lofty would like you to believe that the members don't have the balls to question or stand up to the committee!! Complete [edited by admin]. Does it not show that the members are happy with not only the committee but also and more importantly how City Cabs is being run!!

In any business Stability is the major foundation to build a strong structure from. The stability of the City Cabs committee shows that there is a belief and strength throughout the membership. Now lets have a look over the canal!! How many chairman, secretary's and committee members over the past 7 years? Answers on a very long durable toilet roll please!!

There will no doubt be some [edited by admin] on it!!

Most appropriate. The "Magnificent Seven" were a bunch of cut throats, gunslingers and petty thieves.

So you now truly understand what's happening with the city's committee kaiser.

It was thought the more expensive tariff may help encourage more taxi drivers to work past midnight to cater for the late-night rush hour, particularly at weekends.

Another demand indicator then?

There's allegedly not a demand yet here we have an admission that there are not sufficient taxis for the late rush time and a party tariff is needed to encourage more drivers to stay out?

I can see it now.

The lassie was raped m'lud because she couldn't hail a cab, and it's the council's fault because they wouldn't allow the party tariff we need to encourage licence holders to fulfill the requirements of their licence, i.e. provide an adequate service to customers.

If the council wants to ensure the public's safety at peak periods by having a sufficient supply of cabs available, all it has to do is end its PROTECTION RACKET of its artificial restriction of licences.

We all know there are any number of guys out there who are desperate to provide the service while the cossetted owner/drivers' taxis are parked at their front door when the public can't hail a cab.

Give them their own taxi and sort the problem.

Simple as.

Yes, that's right. Just one user prepared to divulge his identity.

And 17 souls who are too sh*t scared to let anyone know they're even looking at the forum.

Take a bow, brave boys
