My LO is 100% Wav.
Before 2007 we had saloon and minibus normal type car Hackney carriages but then new rules came in saying all Vehicles had to be Wav by 2010 so everybody start putting in new cabs investing 10s of thousands of pounds to buy these Tx, E7 cabs,
But what im trying to say is we hardly need Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles as out of 100% of fares i do not even 1% are Wheelchair jobs + they cost a fortune to buy and run and just not worth the hassle, So is there any way we can persuade the council to let back the saloon hackneys?

In my area the council tried to make all generals (hackneys) WAV's, I at the time was in the local TOA and we opposed this and luckily they listened to us and the proposal was scraped, but some of the taxi plates are restricted to only go on a WAV and not a saloon, luckily when I received my taxi no.65 it was a flexi so could go on a saloon or WAV

Lobby your councillors to change the policy.
