I would not take them so lightly it happened here a good few ywers ago now but the local firms tried to shut out the pakistani drivers (most of whom had lost their badges in peterborough) 15 years on they are the biggest firm in town and all the punters like them Why because they are CHEAP

That will happen there mark my words before you know it they will be running 20+ cars and undercutting the fares as they will have an unlimited supply of new driverrs !!!!

could not agree more!.One of my asian cabbie mates had a natter the other day,he said "the english use moan about the pakistanis taking over, now the pakistanis are moaning about the somalis taking over!".Cabbies are cabbies it does'nt matter about your ancestry, the young asian lads are english they can't help being anything else!.The english use to sell to the Kashmiris, now the kashmiris are selling to the somalis,it's really no big deal !.When I first started I did not Know where I was going,I made some right bloomers!.For all the talk of unity (muslim brothers etc) they are as dis unified as the rest of us.

The reason they have been SACKED is because they don't know any of the routes and are charging passengers x2, I and many of the other drivers don't see it lasting

How can self-employed staff be sacked?

Talking of accents, I picked up some pilots from the airport a while ago, all EU staff, speaking good English. I said how good their English was, they replied they needed good English as it was the air industry standard. They said they don't have a problem understanding English all over Europe or the world, but when they have to go to Newcastle, Glasgow, Belfast they can't understand a word!! They found it easier to understand English in Europe because it was always spoken with a foreign accent!

wish them the best of luck to be honest.

the 2 most important things for any taxi/ph company going is Customer service and price. if you can offer a reasonable amount of both your going to succeed.

I work for one of the larger PH firms in Glasgow and found myself accosted by a member of the public this evening asking if I could take her from the Airport to the east of Glasgow as my own company wouldn't dispatch her a vehicle as she had 3 suitcases and a pram. Every single day I here stories of quite frankly ridiculous levels of customer service being put forward by what are multi million pound businesses. If you can offer a decent level of service (ie sending a car out when you say you will. not lying to your customers and generally being decent along with being competitive (yes I said competitive not cheapest) on price you will clean up. All the public want to do is get from point A to point B with the least amount of fuss.

i wish them all the best with their venture and to be fair if i had any sort of decent amount of cash i would launch my own firm as well as the standards throughout my trade are rank rotten

they aren't running generals, just Ph's on their system, but they want to charge the large amount and they have not got a clue where to go
