My E7 is now 5 years old and I noticed last year that the aircon wasn't as cold as it once was. In fact this year it stopped working altogether. I had a word with a friend who works in a local garage and he told me that in the Peugeot systems, once the gas pressure drops below a certain level the compressor stops working to prevent any damage. I had heard about kits that were available on the web which allowed you to recharge the system yourself and since they were a helluva lot cheaper than the usual 50 quid that it costs to get it done professionally, I thought it worth a go.

It arrived this morning and was so simple to use. I now have freezing cold aircon working as good as new, recommended :P
PS if you need more in the future, you can buy just the canister of gas and not the full kit, saving you money again :)

Kwikfit do a recharge about that price, free if it has no effect...

Kwikfit charge £50.00 here but doing it yourself gives you the ease of doing it at home, it literally takes 2 mins, so you don't have to book in and travel miles to your nearest depot. 99 out 0f 100 times it's just your gas that needs replenished as was in my case. Haven't heard of them not charging if it makes no difference but if that's the case i suppose it's a pretty good deal. You pays yer money and takes yer choice :-|

Kwik fit machine sucks out all old coolant first, then fills with a ultra violet marker in fluid to make finding any leaks easier. If its free when it does not work so much the better...thinks I would prefer to pay the extra £10 to have it done properly. Had mine filled by Kwikfit over two years ago and ended up free...worked famously freezing yer bits in summer...but it failed after 2 weeks...and I left it too long to find any leak...so still using without AC till I can afford to have it done

The same company that supplies the recharge kits can also supply a leak sealer which might be worth a try if that's what's wrong 8)
