Both reasonable assessments of what's coming.

But I'm really getting naffed off with this London is best nonsense.

Someone remind me how many rapists and touts operate out of this wonderland?

More truth to that than you may think.

However drivers will have a choice to work with them or not.

But how will they have a choice if they have all the work ? Same as all of us shopping at supermarkets and thinking weve got a good choice, its a monopoly.

They will have a choice of doing another job.

Whilst this trade might be the be all and end all for many, it's not for most.

as you give decent answer this time i shall return favor

cities like brighton, oxford, brum, newcastle etc will sadly get swamped out by the buying power of AL they can sit at a loss for 3 years an wait until the stigma wear off an it will cos those who swear never will be riding AL as soon as the last other company isnt at the door within 5 minutes

it looks like the big boy has decided on taxis to be the next bite of the earth sandwich an i dont think AL is the biggest of the big boys either an i think there will be a bigger boy to swallow AL up eventually

it be like the railways and buses

once small indy companies become larger an larger buys larger etc like the way the supermarkets are trying to bankrupt each other by swamping surburbia with mini marts with silly names like metro and express etc

So for most its a bit of fun is it ? Most people drive a taxi to earn a living, maybe theres a abudance of jobs in your manor but not here.

Why sadly?

Do AL have difficulty recruiting in London?

No it's not a bit of fun, just not something they are going to do for the rest of their life.

And if the best reason for joining or staying in a trade is there's nothing else, then that ain't much of a trade.

If someone drives a taxi because theres' nothing else ' whats the difference from the majority of jobs out there at the moment ? Mcjobs, primark, tesco id take a guess most of these jobs arent peoples career choice, but beggars cant be choosers.Taxi driving isnt the best paid job recently so the majority arent entering the trade for the wages, there doing it to make ends meet.Do you really think there driving as a career choice or step up the ladder ? As i said before id guess most taxi drivers started driving with the intention of it not being their career for life, more a stop gap.

I would say it indicates that we are the bottom of the barrel, now you might be happy with that but I'm not.

As for the beggars analogy, once again I'm not sure we should be happy with that as well.

Being a trade that mops up the s*** no one else wants is a trade that deserves to get said s***.

AL would never get much of a foothold in many parts of the UK because of pricing their prices are way above the level of fares in many towns and cities and round here many muslim drivers will only work for muslim owned firms, and they make up 90 % of the badged drivers all with their own cars and sometimes their own radios ! Al won't get drivers to pay £300 plus for cars when price is the main factor determining consumer choice except in the Worlds major business centres where price is not the main factor
