I'd be stumped, I ain't got a doctor.

Do you mean that you are not registered with a particular doctor but you are registered with a practice? Or, you are not registered with a practice?

I'm not registered, period

Just being a nosey git but, I assume that your medical records are kept somewhere.

When I first saw the headline I thought the council were making drivers go to an independent doctor as they didn't trust the driver's own GP.

Well if it is anything like round here going to your OWN GP costs 3 X an independant medical

Yeah I kinda remember everything that's happened to me, but, as you say they must be somewhere and if I become ill I'll just go the hospital to the out of hours service, they'll fix me :D

I think your council are wrong, they don't have access to your records? Will you give them permission? I wouldn't ? They are creating a monopoly, in two years time they could treble the price, and shouldn't they put it out to tender? They are also putting the council at risk, most women like to use there own doctors for obvious reasons, if one gets attacked the council will be expected to pay? I always use my own doctor he knows me best.

Probally the same as here where a medical with your own doctor could be anything up to 130 quid, but go to another and its a fixed 35 quid.

But isn't there a reason for that.

If a normal cab fare is £130 and someone does the job for £35, do we say good on the fella doing it for £35?

Apples and pears sussex the requirements for us are not for a full medical but a basic one which takes the doctor all of 10 minutes and requires no reference to your medical history other than a questionnaire they fill out howerver they charge you £130 for a full medical exam so the bloke charging less is probably charging for what is required not the full whack

Yup my doctor charges me £40 cash in the pocket no questions asked.

Medigold are used by Gedling Council, Nottingham City Council, Rushcliffe Council, Broxtowe Council so, getting an appointment for a medical is going to be a task and a half.
